Can’t wait to go back

I’ve been told by many people to play this course, so I booked a time. Unfortunately the greens were aerated, but if you want nice greens it’s a necessary evil. You can stretch the course out to 7400 yards which I love. The layout is spectacular, truly one of the best I’ve seen. Everything was green and plush, the traps had soft sand, which is a hard find in New England. The tee boxes were pristine and flat. I can wait to go back in a couple of weeks when the greens fill in a bit because I hear they are typically fast and true. This is a great course to play, I played 7:42 on a Sun morning and played in a 4 some in 4:05. Great pace, and the ranger, a great and friendly guy, was always around. I would just love to see a range be added so players can warm up a bit. This is a must play course

I'm here for work and a local recommended Meadow Brook. I tried it once and came back the next week. The first time I carried and the second I rode. It is a beautiful piece of property that winds through the woods of South County and there are a few water hazards that come into play. It is privately owned and well kept, but it could use an architect. I say this because some of the tees are in weird positions, and the tips are a 7,500 yard course. This is way too long for a course like this. But, it was a really fun course to play and I will return next time I'm out here.

This was a very nice course. A little more expensive then equivalent courses in the area. But overall nice.

Etiquette is dead

I grabbed a quick nine today before the rain. I played the Blue tees for the first time and it gave the course an entirely different feel than the usual Green tees. The course us in beautiful shape. My ONLY complaint is that it appears no one repairs their divots or ball marks. I saw grounds out filling in divots on the 4th hole par three. The patrons who leave the ball marks should be ashamed of themselves. I ALWAYS repair mine and at least two others. Today I could have spent 45 minutes on the 3rd green alone. Obviously this is not the course's fault however, to preserve the beautiful conditions they presently have, they may want a ranger or even grounds to point out any unrepaired damage to the guilty parties. To keep courses nice we must first repair etiquette. Other than that PLEASE GO PLAY THIS COURSE AND REPAIR ANYTHING YOU MAY DAMAGE WHILE YOU ARE THERE,,,,,

Best course for the $ in RI

This course is fantastic. Course conditions are second to none in RI. Fairways and greens are perfect and there's just enough high stuff around to get you in trouble on a bad shot.

I'll be going back again next week, and plenty more after that I'm sure.
If you haven't had the chance to play it, get out there and do so.

Had played this course in past years and conditions were always excellent. This year it seemed they were in no rush to get things going. Play started on #2 so you had to play 17 holes before reaching the practice putting green. Fairways were spotty and hadn't been cut yet. Carts are gas and had steering problems. Cost $52, way too much for the condition of the course. Only thing saving the course was the greens, which were excellent. Hopefully they get the course back to what it was in the past.

Awesome Conditions

I was definitely underwhelmed when I first arrived. However, after I got through 3-4 holes, I immediately realized that the course is in excellent condition. The fairways seemed a little short, but I can't complain too much about that. I preferred the back 9 despite the increase in the amount of water hazards.

Solid Golf Course

This is a great track and I play here regularly in the summer. It is mostly kept in great shape despite the course getting a LOT of play in the summer with vacationers and the like.

Don't be turned off by the clubhouse, they never built the one that was originally designed and that's why you have to backtrack to get to Hole #1.

Overall, great value for the course but pace of play is not reliable on weekends in the summer.

As Good As People Said It Was

I had heard quite a few good things said about MB, so I decided to give it a try after visiting my daughters in RI. When you pull up, you are immediately underwhelmed. It looks a bit old, but I am told the new entrance, parking lot and clubhouse is in the works. The threesome I was paired with cancelled due to the threat of rain, but about 50% of the tee sheet was playing. I got trapped in some foursome traffic, but one group of oldtimers quit after 9 and a recreational foursome let me go through on 11, and then it was clear sailing. All of the holes are well designed and cause you to hit strategically. To me there seemed to be more tough holes on the back, including a bear of a par 5. The conditons were very good, even on a damp morning when the cut grass was clumpy. The greens rolled very nciely with few bumps. I think this course will continue to improve and be a real first tier public course in central RI. I say play it if you can.

Best course in the state

I play this course about twice a week. For the amount of play this course gets, it is in excellent condition and the greens roll perfect and play true. There are some real tough holes which make you think about what to hit off the tee. I would recommend this course to any player.
