Opened in 1911, Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington is one of the oldest golf courses in the area. The course is a Donald Ross design that has consistently been ranked in the country's top classic golf courses. The layout features a diverse mix of parkland, woodland, and seaside holes. The final four holes play along the scenic Narragansett Bay and offer some stunning views, but nearly every hole looks across the Bay and its islands, which are connected by three suspension bridges. There is plenty of variety throughout the course, which not only gives it appeal for all skill levels, but also makes it an ideal host for tournaments and outings. Over the years it has hosted four USGA championships and is currently home to the CVS Caremark Charity Classic on the PGA Tour.
