Mount Airy Golf Club has a unique layout with inspiration for every hole pulled from Sports Illustrated's "Best 18 Holes in America." The course's designer, Hal Purdy, re-interpreted the holes to fit with the stunning mountain landscape provided by the nearby Pocono Mountains. In addition to providing a variety of natural hazards, there is endless scenery available thanks to the babbling streams, lush green meadows, and of course, the mountains. Characterized by blind holes and long-distance drives, the golf course demands accuracy in order to successfully maneuver the dramatic elevation changes. Numerous bunkers are strategically placed throughout and golfers should also be prepared for several holes with water. High handicappers might feel a bit out of their league but for low handicappers who want a challenge, Mount Airy Golf Club fits the bill.
