Crazy in the best way
Staff very friendly, course conditions are good. Some Cart paths are rough but it looks like they are fixing them up. This course is elevation / blind shots aplenty. Really fun time , the kind of course where half the fun is seeing how a shot will end up. Definitely recommend.
Overpriced and awfully kept!
Expensive for a course with no yardage markers (even at the tee box) with very obscure signs for cart red zones with extremely overreacting and rude greens keeper.
Not even 150 yard markers!
Without investing in GPS technology/rangefinder apps, you will have no clue on distance from the tee box to the green.
Quality of the greens will not help your putting practice. Pitch repairs poor, watering needing to help the brown grass and even the holes are not clean cut.
Also, allowing players to jump in and out of the course should be a higher priority for the self-proclaimed 'greenskeeping police'. It's hard to get into a rhythm and golf etiquette and will not help to justify the $50 labor day weekend fee (charged on Friday, which isn't a weekend day, obviously, and not advertised as holiday weekend prices).
Lots of alternate courses locally more reasonable, honest and less expensive.
I play all over the world and especially western PA. It must be bad for me to take the time to write a review to benefit potential customers and feedback for course (and personnel) improvements.
Strawberry Ridge
I really enjoyed the course, it was beautiful. I enjoyed the layout and the unique holes wrapping around the mountain. The greens were slower than expected and some of the tee boxes had higher grass than what tee boxes usually have but overall I would definitely come back again.
Needs some improvements and will be great
Good course, but they need to do something about some of the cart paths. Not fix for man or beast.
Decent Course
Fine layout, nothing too complex. Pace of play was a tad slow, but it was also a Sunday morning quite early. Greens were large and the speed was good.
Bunkers and tee boxes could use some work. If you're coming from the city it can be a bit of a drive, but an easy one at that.
Worth the drive
Course was in real good shape, fairways on some holes are a little tight. Greens are consistent and large. It is quite there and nice scenery. It is a fun course to play and I would go back for sure. Staff very friendly and happy we made the drive. Some par 4's drive-able, but cannot be greedy because the course will get you.
Nice Course
first time playing course. nice driving range, large and consistent greens. fairways in good condition. would recommend cutting the tee boxes. some fairways were tight but overall our foursome had a great time. just challenging enough and will go back to play again.
