Waste of your Money
Paid 15 dollars to walk in the mud, Putt through pine cones and grass clippings. Horrible push carts. Will not be returning for any amount of money
Great greens - yes, I'm serious!
Played here for many years. No more shag carpet greens. They have got the greens dialed in, and they are very good.
Here's my assessment:
Greens - fast, excellent condition
Fairways - #11 & #12 are in very bad shape; others OK
Tee boxes - good
Layout - tight, tree lined fairways
Atmosphere - laid back
19th hole - very cool; great burgers
Setting - Beautiful, amazing trees
We have many fond memories from this course. It is terrific for teaching new, and young players just learning the game.
What's a mower?
Let me preface this firstly by saying we haven't had much rain until just in the last week so I didn't expect the course to be pristine. We played in a drizzle to light rain and there was not another soul on the course. When you come here though you do understand that this is at best a 3 star course but we weren't expecting to be putting on shag carpet. It seemed that the greens hadn't been cut in several days to up to a week. It was frustrating to say the least and was not what I remembered from when I last played here several years ago. You would have to hit a putt twice as hard as you would under a normal conditioned green. The fairways were spotty with some burnt out patches and they seemed to be a little longer to as it was difficult to discern where the fairway ended and rough began. It's a shame because I do like the layout but this recent experience will probably keep me and my friends away from this course for the foreseeable future.
Hidden in the Valley
Hartman's is a average course hidden in the valley of Harmony. This course is very accessible even on weekends. The course is easy to walk with very little hills. The front 9 features a traditional layout with tree lined fairways. The back nine has less tree's but numerous water hazards. Greens roll true and are maintained well. The par 3's are fairly long, but not difficult. Don't be fooled by a crowded parking lot, the majority of the cars are patrons to the restaurant, which is also solid place for lunch or dinner. Ice cold drafts are served from a mason jar in the rustic barn style bar.
