Top notch conditions
Mountainview is a shorter course even from the blue tee boxes but they compensate for that nicely with well positioned bunkers and mature trees lining many holes which challenges you to hit specific distances to set up for your next shot. I Think the course is in fabulous shape and is well worth the greens fees
Nice rural course - good value, but not challenging
This course belies its name as it is not at all mountainous, but very flat. Relatively short course with little trouble and a good place to hone your skills without losing a bunch of balls. The views of the mountains are pretty, though, and the park-like atmosphere very pleasant. Friendly staff as well.
Sat. review
The staff was wonderful and the course was ok. I would play the course again with a discount, but I would not consider paying full price for this course with so many other comparable courses in the area for much less.
Great Course
Conditions were great and course was nice shape. Highly recommend.
great layout
The course very was busy but the pace was right on 4hrs. They had no starter and it was based on the honor system as to who was up. My buddy and I paired up to move things along. Had a great time with some really nice guys. I would recommend playing the course.
Beautiful day to play a beautiful course
The course is in excellant shape and has beautiful surroundings. It was a little busy due to holiday (Veterans Day) but pace was OK. Would play again
Course in good conditions
I like the layout of the course. It is always in very good condition.
It is a nice course
It is a nice course and I would go back and play again.
this the wrong course
I wanted to Mt View in New Jersey. This the reservation and confirmation is not clearly marked. I live Princeton, why do travel all long way Gettysburg?
I don't known anything this course, I went to Mt View, NJ and played that.
Clearly GolfNow better marked reservation correctly
Fun Course; Slow Back 9
I booked on-line as a single before playing later the same morning. I was paired up with a really nice retired couple who knew the course well. We all played well from the appropriate tees, and challenged one another to shoot good scores. The front 9 was easily seen from the tee boxes and "for the taking". Pace of play was appropriate. After making the turn, I tried to go it alone as a single (as the couple had other plans and left), but got caught up in "foursome purgatory"; no ranger on the back 9 and the play came to a standstill at several points. I joined another twosome, and we finished the final 6 holes together. I was politely waved through two foursomes, but fell back to wait for the twosome since there was no improvement by my playing alone. Back 9 is definitely more difficult, and was made especially so by the pace of play. Yes, I know it was a holiday weekend, but given the lecture the Pro Shop attendant gave the customer prior to me about "pace of play" I was hoping to see a ranger to facilitate something better than a 5 hour round (when the attendant claimed play was always done in just over 4 hours and that rangers would make sure of it!). Course conditions were great: cut, watered, and green.
Outstanding Condition!
This course is in outstanding shape! We played it for the first time this afternoon, and we found everything in tip-top condition -- the tees, fairways, greens, bunkers, electric carts -- everything! The greens are well bunkered. Fortunately every bunker I saw (and I saw more than I would have liked) was raked and firm enough that my ball had a good lie. Good bunker shots were rewarded.
To my eye, the course is fair. I noted no hidden obstacles. You can see how to play the hole. You just have to execute!
Staff is very friendly and helpful. The Pro Shop is well stocked. We did not try the snack bar.
Great Shape
Had an enjoyable round. A little crowded and no marshall to speed up play. The course ws in great condition and fast greens. Overall great outing.
Sprinklers on
I usually don't write review. But this one was warranted. They just had a big tournament and the price was very good for a Saturday so I purchased and went to play. I hooked up with 3 great guys. 1 st hole had water than the next hole third hole did not. But we decided to let a 2 some go by. So I called the clubhouse and asked about the the sprinklers and she told me that he wanted to leave early or something like that. Other than a par 3 every hole had sprinklers going. Not only going but most of the time it was in the landing zone. So your balls wet and you had to hurry to hit so you wouldn't get soaked! I've been here 2 other times with no problems at all.
Great place
Dave and the rest of the group in the pro shop are great. The course is always in good shape. Prices are very affordable. The back view of the mountains are great as well.
