Played Sunday Afternoon.

I love the course and recommend it. I love the layout. When I played 4/24/22, the greens were aerated and I was not told when I booked. I would have played anyway but feel they should tell you that when you book. The tees are in terrible shape, trying to find a good spot to tee up was difficult. The fairways are patchy. I also feel there should be a senior rate, which there wasn't. $50 is too much for the course based on the condition of the tees and the fairways. Play was extremely slow. There was no ranger to help speed the play up. I was in a twosome behind a very slow foursome that did not want us to play through. They were all over the place and we had to wait on every hole until we asked them to let us play through. The gentlemen we asked was aggravated that we asked, even though we were respectful but always held up by them. All of that said, I love the course anyway. I just think for the conditions and type of course it is $50 is too much.

Qwerky, but fun to play

Some very unique holes. My favorite is the short par 5 13th with a blind tee shot and pond right, 2 telephone poles and high tension wire pole in play to a green that's fronted by a ditch. 6 holes are flat the rest are either up hill or down. Greens are small and trickey.

Just Know What To Expect!

Sawmill is a little local course off Route 33 near Easton. I knew what to expect so I can recommend this course with the following background:

This course DOES NOT TAKE TEE TIMES so just know that depending when you arrive, you may wait in line to pay and get started. There's no starter so just know that you'll be in line at the tee. Many folks seem to be sent to the back nine ... which became a problem when I got to the 10th tee (played from nine in one hour) in a cart. I will just say that I looked at the course map and circumvented the two groups ahead of me by starting on number 3!

It's short course and very compact with holes running parallel to each other in many cases. However, in fairness it's a nice little course for beginners or higher handicappers.

The fairways are mowed pretty long and there is some reasonably deep primary rough. It was little like playing out of your back yard but manageable. The greens had been aireated
and were not too bad. For the most part they were smooth but very soft and slow. They actually had some pretty challenging multi-level greens that were a nice surprise.

Sawmill is not the ultimate in golfing experiences and is a fairly easy course. The price may be a bit high ( $32 sr rate with cart) for what the course is. I drove about an hour plus but have driven further and been more disappointed. If I was a local I probably would play the course more.

The clubhouse staff was polite and accommodating. So if you are just looking for some place for a quick round ( I played 18 in two hours) this may be the place for you. Just know what to expect!

A Fine Option for a quick round of golf

Surprised no one has reviewed this yet.

A nice little course in Easton, PA that I play pretty often based solely on closeness. No tee times required, just show up and play so that's a plus for getting together a last minute round.

Not the most pristine place around, but it more than adequate. 12 is a memorable short par 3 and also very like 8 a slight dog leg into an open fairway out of tee box in the woods (16 plays similar). That is what I like in a course - to have a couple memorable ones.

Greens fees are good all day so if you're a walker you could play as many rounds as you'd like. They charge for the cart each time and when added up if only playing one round on a weekend it comes to $40. Which I think is okay, not great.

Unless the advanced golfer is really looking to tear up a course, probably not the best place for them. Would be way too easy. I routinely shoot in the 115-120, and I hit 80% of the fairways, multiple bogeys and a couple pars to end with a 104.

That's why I like it for someone who doesn't hit a long tee shot.
