Playing in the cold

This course is three minutes from my house. I had roughly an hour and a half to play. Even though the staff thought I was crazy I managed to play 7 holes with a pull cart. For being winter in Pittsburgh the grounds are in great shape! The greens are very choppy but only because of the weather. Best bang for the buck this time of year!

North park golf course

I play regularly at Northpark golf course. It's a well maintained public course and the course fee is very reasonable. At times the waiting time is long.

DO NOT GOLF HERE!!

The rudeness of the staff will overshadow any positives that I could take from this place. The course was in decent shape and they do have some very tasty craft beers, but I will NEVER be back after the way I was treated and spoken to on a repeated basis. This was not a one time deal. This has become a habit here. I tried to golf 18 holes last time, but the rudeness, paired with a painfully slow pace, had me leaving after 9. It's the closest course to my house, but I will never be playing it again.
Save yourself the time and frustration. Go somewhere where they will appreciate your money.

Well Worth a Visit!

Set in the midst of a park system, this mature traditional design is home to young and old, high and low handicappers. Club feels original, players are genuine and fun to partner with. Clubhouse staff is always pleasant and accommodating. No tee times taken - show up, sign-in, and await for your name(s) to be called. Walking offers good cardio workout. Course layout is relatively open however features a few significant elevation changes, fair number of uneven lies, off-line shots can find the long “happy grass” and the many old trees that border holes. Good mix of holes, each side boasting two or three stout holes, others fair and manageable. Greens are built elevated, smallish, run back to front, with a fair number of knobs and mini-slopes. Three sets of tees, tips at 6800. Front tee is appropriate for women, seniors and juniors. Only negative or pause- Monday through Thursday between 7A- 11A, tee sheet dominated by seniors and pace of play can be poor. If an Allegheny resident, cost of play below $20 to walk eighteen. Excellent value!
