Par 3's
Covid is over please bring back the sand to fill in the million divots on the Par 3's! It really feels like a war zone!
You cant even find a place to stand without stepping into a divot!
Or at least have the grround crew fill in the holes at least once a week
This is really becoiming bothersome
The Great Blue
It was nice being able to get out mid week and play this course. The course is in good shape for the amount of play it gets. Greens and tee boxes we good, some bunkers could use a little love, but overall it was great. I'm really only there to golf, but some of the staff inside needs an attitude adjustment. When you reply with please and thank you's, then get no response but an inconvenient look it's bad for business. If you don't enjoy golf or course hospitality then find a different job. I'm sure everyone complains about it, but the parking is poor for the amount of traffic they get. I would still recommend both of the courses Heron Lakes offers for any golfer, each offering different styles of layout makes it a nice place to play golf at.
Excellent!
Interesting course and some what different from other publics, harder than others. Weather was also good!
A great track
This has always been one of my favorite Portland area courses. As public municple courses go, this one is pretty challenging (127 slope).
Noisy course!
Course had some fun holes, greens were in good shape, fairways had a lot of divots and bunkers had almost no sand. My biggest complaint though was the noise, it's right next to a race track (literally beside) so check the race schedule unless you want to be deaf by the end of your round. Not exactly a peaceful, relaxing game in nature! The few holes not on the track were on a busy rail corridor so we had no reprieve.
Mud and goose poop
Probably the worst place to play right now.
The course is covered in duck and goose poop.
To make things worse there was mud all over the course from insects or something.
My Clicgear wheels were caked, not to mention my shoes were also covered in mud and goose/duck poop!
I hope no one gets sick from all this feces on the course.
Rename Geese lake
The lack of geese control has completely destroyed this golf course. It was really disgusting walking through all the geese scat that is everywhere including the greens. There is hardly any grass left around the greens and in the fairways.
Great shape for a public course
The course is always in good shape, but right now the greens and fairway are in excellent shape. Pace of play is usually pretty consistent (around 4 hours). Most of the people that play here are pretty considerate. Tons of wildlife around the course. One of my go to places to play.
Nice course to play in summer
This is really nice and well maintained golf course to play especially in the summer because when play in late fall and winter, there’s a ton of geese’s poops all over the course. Highly recommended in the summer months
The goose issues were not.
I have hesitated to play here again but the issue of the acres of goose poop seemed to be a thing of the past. The course is vey good shape, the greens were wet and slow but with the heat expected I can understand.
Keep it going !
