Front nine was a SWAMP, needs a lot of sand and the fairway is about 2 to 3 inches deep!?
No Power carts!! I can SEE why, it was a swamp again.!!?
I will WAIT until it is 70 degrees or HOTTER!
Solid course but muddy
Every other hole is a wicked steep hill, its slick.
New course maintenance is top notch!
Big shout out to the new worker who has been keeping this course looking like a gem 💎 very nice and respectful dude! Really appreciate his hard work, please consider making him the new manager of the course, he does fantastic work. I would continue to play at this course because of how well kept the place is. Again very nice person and considerate to guest. Highly recommend promoting him. He is a younger gentleman who just started there recently, I apologize for not remembering his name right now but had a conversation with him on how well the course looks. 😀 sincerely Austin Barnett happy guest 😊 thank you !!
Fun playing here, esp ESst Vourse
Really like the layout and challenge of this course for a mid level player. Enough challenge but still can hit par fr time to time.
Slow play
Started out 30 minutes after the group in front of us, we were a threesome walking, caught up to group by 6th hole and had long waits on every hole after that. Marshall was out but nothing improved.
Course was very dry but greens were very wet.
Slow pace
Course was in good shape but several holes had long waits.
East side
Glendoveer is an ok place
It’s not long but can be challenging
Especially trying to putt on 14 when
Heroin addicts are passed out on the green .
Beautiful but sloooow
I’ve played Glendoveer East many times. This was the first time on a Saturday. I will not do that again unless it’s in the off-season. It’s a Portland golf staple. Beautiful trees lining every hole. The fairways were hard but that’s to be expected in mid-August. The greens were in great shape and rolling true and fast. I have no complaints about the course at all.
However, the pace of play was beyond slow. Waiting at every tee box for 5-10 minutes. Waiting mid hole for groups to move along to allow us to hit second shots. Not once did the starter or a marshall check on pace of play.
We were a threesome and teed off at 9:12 and finished at 2:15. Five hours is way too long for any course.
As I sad it’s a beautiful public course in the heart of Portland that any local golfer should play. Just make sure you don’t have plans after.
May all your putts fall and your drinks poured tall!
Great Course/Great Price
Glendoveer is a great place to play. They have two courses and each one is a little different from the other. The course is in good shape. Short distances from greens to the next tee box, but the course is hilly overall. It’s my favorite public course in Portland.
