Crooked River Ranch GC

Forty five minutes north of Bend is Crooked River Ranch GC. On your drive into the course, it's well worth a few minutes of your time to stop at the perch that overlooks the course and take in the view, it's gorgeous.

Crooked River Ranch GC has got some good holes, starting with Hole 5 which is considered their signature hole. The tee box is perched on a rocky promontory on the edge of the canyon and provides great views of the Crooked River flowing 150 feet below. Holes 8, 10, 13 and 17 all scored high on the entertainment scale.

Spring conditions were pretty good, wide, open fairways, light rough, the greens were holding shots and putts rolled pretty consistent throughout the course. I counted around 24 bunkers on the course and there is essentially only one water hazard that comes into play.

Crooked River Ranch is a course that some would consider short in yardage but it's long on fun.

Not a bad track

The course is in fairly good shape, and has a nice, pleasant character to it. The views of the Crooked River Gorge from some of the holes are pretty specular. Although water does come into play on a couple holes and there are a couple doglegs here and there, it's a pretty easy and forgiving course for the most part and can be a bit bland at times. The green fees I paid on a Saturday morning made it a not so great value considering what I paid for other tracks. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. All in all, a fun easy play and if I could find a better deal, would play again.

Good Value

I play this course several times each year. It's typically in good -to-great shape. Good value for the price. Wide fairways for easy, fun tee shots, but also holes that will test your game. Awesome views of the Crooked River Canyon on several holes.

My Favorite Course

This course has got to be my favorite course I've ever played for reasons both sentimental and otherwise. My grandpa took me here when I was learning how to golf and whenever I'm in the area, I find time to get a round in. The course is gorgeous and like another poster said, you have incredible views of the canyon on some of the holes. There's even one dogleg that if you're brave, you can shoot it over part of the canyon. Sagebrush will assist you in losing some golf balls if you're not careful. The course is great to walk or ride.
