Bandon Dunes offers a unique, par-3 short course in addition to four championship courses. The resort is known for capturing the beauty and challenges of traditional British Isles courses. The golf courses utilize the rugged terrain provided by the scenic southern Oregon coast, the ideal landscape for a traditional links course. The short course, Bandon Preserve, is a 13-hole layout, possibly the only one of its kind in the U.S. The name comes from its preservation efforts to protect the Silvery Philacea, a native endangered plant species. Every hole enjoys a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean as the layout tumbles down towards the beach. This golf course may not be full-length, but it still has plenty of challenges. The holes are tight and the rolling, sandy dunes can be tough to navigate
