Course is in excellent shape

The Bermuda greens are in great shape and fast, the rest of the course is in great shape too. the biggest knock are the carts, they are just about worn out, time to lease some new ones. Desk staff wasn't very friendly. Still one of the best deals in town for sure.

IT'S Okay

It's an okay course. I'll presume they have very limited funds to work with. After the rains of October you'd maybe expect a bit better, but ya never know what a fella has to work with.

Perfect Greens

If you have not played this course recently you are missing out. Years ago I wouldn’t waste my time or money. They now have it in great shape. Mowed tee boxes. Soft green fairways. And the greens at rolling. Solid course for the weekend. Not too busy either.

Overall good but....

Great layout. Greens were in great shape. Fairways and tees very good. Bunkers terrible. Plastic bag full of ice instead of cooler. Spend a little money on the bunkers and this is a great place to play

Great Course in Excellent Shape!

Greens are smooth and true. Fairways in great shape. Some narrow holes. Fun to play. Pace for our threesome was 3 1/2 hours day we played.

Great play to play during the week

I rarely play Sulverhorn on weekends mainly because it's the best kept weekday secret in OKC. The course is lightly played during the week so I can get a round in in under 3hrs. The course is in great shape, definitely a Best Buy in the OKC area

greens are much better.

After a lengthy regrowth period following aeration, the greens are much improved and in great shape. The late summer into fall growth of the native grasses is very tall. Meaning "you better hit the fairways". I've played 5-6 times in the last 2 months. My biggest complaint is the worn out cups and pins. The pins and flags won't even stand straight up. They lean 20 -40 degrees. No big deal right. Except, windy conditions mean the pin will rub on the edge of the hole. Some of them will get deformed from the movement of the pin. This is a very small issue. The course is as good as I've ever seen it.

No concideration

After 4 holes I had to leave to provide tech support for my wife who is working in Houston for a FEMA contractor. The course gave no consideration for a rain check because I booked on line.

Good condition

Sand traps could use a little attention otherwise everything was in good shape. Great value! Will be going back.

Pretty good course for the money.tee

Tees, fairways, and greens well maintained. Traps pretty good too but some could have used more sand. Some wet spots on course because of drainage issues. Overall, a decent course.

Disappointed

My wife works for a FEMA contracter and was having difficultys and had to leave the course after 4 holes to help her and they would not give me any rain check consideration at all.because I booked on line.

Great course, great value

The greens have been top dressed but by the time you read this they will be fine, I had no issues putting on them. Silverhorn is probably the best golf value in OKC. It requires good shotmaking but isn't long so you don't have to be a bomber to score well. Try this course, I'm sure you'll love it.

Not worth the money, overbooked, and upkeep is lacking

This course is a little off in a lot of ways. The fairways and greens were in decent shape, however the sand traps were muddy clay pits, some of which were unplayable. Course setup was interesting, some very easy holes, a few par 4's are almost driveable to the green, coupled with some very tough holes where proper course management and hitting it straight are a must. I was just passing through the area but for what they charged I would expect much more. I was part of a 3-some playing at a decent pace and it seemed we were always on the heels of the people in front of us and the same for the people behind us, it was just an extremely slow pace of play overall.

I enjoy the course!!

I like the challenge of the course! The course is in pretty good shape. If I had a complaint then it would be the management of the course. All of the course water jugs were almost empty and not very cold. For a 96 degree day, this unexceptionable!!
Most of the ball washer had not been cleaned out and smelled as if they had not been in weeks.
But I guess I can't complain to much considering the price was only $20 for twilight hours.

Early morning at Silverhorn

I was able to get a early, 6:45am, tee time. The staff inside was very friendly and even sent me off the back due to the mowing crew still being on the front. Never saw them which was awesome. The course is in good shape and the greens roll true. If you haven't played here you will never forget hole 4 or the tee shot on hole 16. Both par 5s and you better be driving it straight and long. Especially from the tips. I have played here around 50 times and it is in the best shape I have seen it. Will be back soon.

Great value

Silverhorn is a course where you can play your entire game. It's not long and you can score well, they've redone the greens and they are in the best shape they've been in a while. It's not too busy, so you won't be rushed along.

This course was not ready for play today!

Greens were recently aerated, sanded and soaked by overnight rain! Virtually unplayable! Traps were muddy and featured puddles in all the low spots. Fairways soaking wet and created mud balls on virtually every shot! Despite the fact that the course was already soggy, the sprinklers were frequently turned on during the course of play and added to the frustration! I was extremely dissatisfied with the entire golfing experience!

Close by, great weather no & putting (just kidding).

With a respite from typical Oklahoma August heat predicted I sprung for a rare midweek opportunity for an afternoon of golfing. I Didn't want to go far due to time restraints. So I played again this course that I had played for the first time just a few weeks earlier. Because of the restrictions I made my tee time despite the aeration advisory. After all I really wanted to work on driving and chipping. Good thing because they had just aerated and there had been zero recovery at that point. Maintenance of courses being a priority I didn't hold that against the course since as I said, I saw the advisory. Otherwise, the course was in great shape for August. Significant rain had fallen earlier in the week. So some bunkers had standing water in them. there were a few muddy spots around sprinkler heads. But all in all the course was in excellent shape. while not all of the holes are difficult, some are downright nasty. Particularly #4. This is a par 5 with multiple creek crossings. Ordinarily, one only needs to keep the ball in the middle of the fairway, that won't work on this hole. you certainly have to hit it straight, but you also have to control your distance. or you will roll into one of the crossings. I played alone, so no competitive issues. just a really enjoyable 3 hour round.

Bad experience

This has progressively gotten worse it has not been enhanced in years. Sand traps are mud pits or just solid rock. Rough areas need to taken care of better.
