Great experience, wish it was closer to me!
Nice layout, course was in very good condition. All of the staff I encountered were extremely friendly and helpful! Will definitely be back. Only concern, I've never encountered winter tees before. It would be nice if you would mow down the temporary tees.
Good value for the money
I wasn't really expecting much. So that's good. Golf cart wasn't cleaned. No drive range which for me is the biggest downside. Some tees were down hill and not trimmed at all. Some greens had way too many divots, some other were better taken care of. No yardage marks, so makes it hard for first time players that don't know the distances nor carry a distance ranger. I live in Tulsa, so it's a bit far, but again. I payed $10 bucks (cart included) so can't really complain
Didn't Regret It
- Course was in fair condition. Greens good, fairways okay, tee boxes rough.
- Big clubhouse but not any food or alcohol that I saw
- Pace was good. Staff was friendly. Other golfers were nice
- Pretty hard course and thoughtful layout
- Worth it if you're in the area
Hidden Gem
This course is always in above average shape. The greens were rolling pretty pure. Some of the fairways had dead spots but nothing crazy. The rough was actually rough, which is rare for Oklahoma courses. Actually lost a ball due to the rough just being too thick to find it. Irritating, but then again I’m the one who hit it in there so I can’t complain too much.
Pace of play typically isn’t an issue, but there was some sort of tournament or something and we caught the tail end of it. Usually this place is pretty empty and a smooth pace, so that was definitely and anomaly and not the status quo. If you’re within an hour of this place check it out. Friendlier faces than what you’ll find at any of the city’s muni courses, and it’s usually in way better shape too.
Fun, well-kept, and nice elevation changes
Played here on a Tuesday afternoon and there was a fair amount of people but not too busy. The layout features typical Perry Maxwell touches like elevated greens and tee boxes, and some really weird rolls in the greens. I was not expecting the course to be as hilly as it was from Google Earth. It was a welcome surprise.
The course is almost one-hundred years old. It shows wear on many holes, but there is a fun afternoon of golf here, and worth the drive from Tulsa.
Fun layout and worth the price and the drive
My wife and I played here on Saturday and we were one of only several groups playing so we had the place to ourselves. The course was a peculiar layout at times but that kind of made it fun. The restaurant and bar are new and very nice. Food was good also. We will be back. The only slight complaint was that our cart started to die and cut out at the end of the round. So we lightened the load by having one of us walk the last 3 holes while the other one drove.
Fun Golf
Always fun to play! Many changes in elevation. Like most courses, it can be difficult, if you miss the fairways!
January Golf
I really like the course.
It was a little windy but enjoyed the day.
The course could use some upkeep on the greens other than that it was a good day.
Thanks
Hi Ron, thank you for taking the time to review us! We are happy to hear that you had a good day despite it being a little windy while you were out here. Thanks again. We hope to see you again soon!
greens have rot/fungas
often times your best lie is not in the fairway as there is hardpan and bald spots. tee box grass was long
1st time playing
Great course overall. Greens definitely need a lot work. Close by home so I will be returning. Staff could be a little more friendly, seemed only interested in members.
needs some TLC
course is not long but does have plenty of places you can get in trouble. I have played it a few times in the past but it had been a year since being there. Almost every hole had a sprinkler head leaking and one had a river flowing down the cart path and across the fairway in front of the green so bad that one of our players lost his ball. Still had a good time and a good round. Wish they would put a little more effort into upkeep.
Great Round For The Price
A place for the frugal golfer. Perry Maxwell design has seen better days, but still a decent challenge and rather scenic setting. The club facilities need lots of work, but the course is mostly in nice shape.
Some greens have amateur repairs and some places needed mowing, but for the LOW green fees they charge the round is hard to beat. Long holes tend to be a bit boring, but there are only a few of them. The rest are a decent test.
Was once a wonderful course
Lovely Perry Maxwell design. Was probably a wonderful course at one time. Maintenance of the course was poor and the greens were so wet that it left footprints on some of the greens. I will not be back.
Nice Course
Most greens were in pretty good condition, some recent repairs to several. Most fairways give you a little room for error. A nice course, we will probably play it again sometime.
Cushing OK
Old private course that is showing signs of neglect. Many greens were being resodded with cracking. clearly not a course were cutting occurs often. Fairways fair but ragged. No restaurant available on a Saturday morning/early afternoon. For the money many other courses out there offering much more.
Hi there, thank you for taking the time to review us. We're glad to hear that you always have a fun time while playing here and appreciate our changes in elevations. We hope to see you again soon!
