Inverness Club, a longtime PGA favorite, has come a long way since its modest beginnings as a nine-hole course founded in 1903. The club is steeped in history and tradition. The first U.S. Open that Inverness hosted occurred more than eight decades ago and since then, the club has hosted eight major championships including three more Opens. A number of notable architects have lent their talents to the layout throughout the years including Donald Ross, George and Tom Fazio, and Arthur Hills. Through all the renovations, the golf course has been expanded to a lengthy 7,300 yards, which means golfers will need long irons or hybrids to reach some of the par 4s. The narrow fairways lined with trees and the small, lightning fast greens make the course a ball-striker's paradise.
