Good Course except for Pebble filled Sand traps

Played here various times throughout my younger years and always enjoyed this course, good value, First time golfing here in 10 or so years and was shocked they had pebbles instead of sand in the traps. If you want to dent your clubs you can play out of the traps, we refused to play out of them. Outside of that, good experience, only $40 for 18 & cart on the weekend. Would give this a 4 or 5 star if it didn't have rocks for sandtraps.

First Time Playing

Don’t Go!

Don’t go to Shelby Oaks Golf Club if you’re not a pro golfer! We let many groups of people play through in front of us and on our 9th and final hole the general manager, Rob, came out to the course and blatantly disrespected us and told us we were getting him in trouble and people were complaining all day that we had them waiting and we needed to keep him out of trouble. Any time we ever saw people coming up behind us even close we stopped and waited to allow them to go ahead of us. We paid just as much money as every other person to be there and play the game. We were beyond respectful ALL DAY to every other individual on the course just to be treated rudely and disrespectfully by management. Apparently a family paying hundreds of dollars to be there is not valuable to Shelby Oaks.

Club Fitting

My experience at this course is limited to the pro shop. I was fit by Rob Fridley for a set of Ping irons and loved the experience. Rob was very knowledgable and helped me through the entire fitting process. I was impressed by the size and quality of the pro shop...lots of nice clothes, putters and hats.
