Upper Lansdowne Golf Links
About
Upper Lansdowne Golf Course originally opened as a nine-hole course in 1961, designed by local course architect Jack Kidwell. More than 30 years later, Kidwell revisited the course with Michael Hurzdan and added another nine holes. It was one of his last projects before retirement. Despite being designed at different times, Upper Lansdowne's nines seamlessly blend modern and traditional features to create a diverse course that appeals to a range of skill levels and abilities. The layout features narrow fairways lined with mature trees that are balanced with large, easy-to-read greens. Water hazards come into play on half of the holes. The golf course's signature hole is the par-3 15th, which plays downhill to a peninsula green, offering little room for forgiveness. If you don't hit the green on this hole, you'll most likely be in the water.

Beware of leaves and also pace of play at this course is terrible
Had a tee time for Wednesday afternoon when making the turn to play The Back Nine was told we had to play the front 9 over again due to League going out on both sides. Problem with that is I called an hour ahead of the tee time to make sure there were no leagues and to avoid such a problem. The lady on the line flat out lied to me I get there and was told something totally opposite. They have disregards for your tee times it's pointless they sent out any and everybody the course was jammed it took two and a half hours to play the nine holes that I did manage to play. The course itself not that bad Green's fine Fairways ok carts and paths are terrible but I don't care about that stuff I go to play golf. Capacity of times playing this course it's went downhill it's becoming hackers heaven and people don't know how to let people play through come on fellow golfers see it feel it hit it we're not Pros stop taking all day it's becoming a problem around courses
Course is not well taken care of
The course is not well taken care of at all cart paths barely there, sections of cart path closed off. Grass was not cut well at all. Just overall an unpleasant course. As a foursome that is not very good but keep a moderate pace we were asked to move even faster by the ranger due to the group behind us continuously playing up on us. I will never golf there again.
A course with a lot of good points, that needs help with amenities
The course itself was fine, in excellent shape, with fast greens and several pretty holes ( #7 in particular). This is a "Mom and Pop" course, with a couple running it. Pro shop is in the old farmhouse, kind of run down looking. Every cart was filthy with dirt, carts hadn't been washed out in weeks, it appeared. They need to get a power washer and hose off the carts in improve the customers impression of the place. Like I said, the course has a lot of good points, just work on the amenities
Cart Paths
Nice course to play but the carts paths are horrible. Impossible to get around without bouncing in deep pot holes. They need gravel in the holes because people are driving around the holes tearing up other areas of the course. Sand in traps is missing also.
Good bang for the buck
Have been playing since it was a nine hole course. It is not maintained like a lot of more upscale courses, but I never cared about that stuff. It is a nice course with some easy holes and some more challenging. What really makes the course more difficult is when the greens harden up and are cut short. There are a lot of tricky putts with considerable slope involved that are difficult to read.
Great course for the money and December in Ohio
I had not played this course in a couple of years.
Decent day in the fifties with some wind. The course was in great shape for December in Ohio. Fairways were very green and the Greens were good. The only thing I can say that was not good was the condition of the cart. The cart was very dirty and muddy, as were all others that I observed. No carts had windshields installed. Cart paths need attention, but this seems to be the norm for most courses in the area. Still, a very nice golf experience.
Hidden Delight
Kind of hard to find, but worth the drive. A fun, fair course. Played from white at 6200 yards. Fairway was still nice and green. Rough and cart paths could use some work. Greens had been plugged and not yet filled in, but the breaks were real and tricky. Good value.
Nice Course
Great course and some super holes that are a challenge.
Love this layout
Would play this course many times a season. i am a senior and it has some challenging holes for my capabilities.
Good golf
The course played well. Pace was 4.5 hours for 18 holes. The cart paths need work, and you might need a hard hat on some holes. But I enjoyed my round with friends and will return to play more.
great layout
Fun layout, used every club in the bag. Greens are challenging. Too many single players that we let play through.
Not impressed
Was not entertained with this course. Conditions were sub par and overall was not a very challenging course. Greens were fast. The rough was thin and dried out in most places. Fairways were ok but they had the sprinkler systems running at noon which was right in them middle of our round. Overall not impressed.
First Time at course thru Golfnow
Overall a nice course for a player that shoots ~95. Some difficult holes, some easier holes. Value was great at ~$18 for 18 holes and cart. Only issue was the lines of cut grass in the roughs that were left from last mow. Will look to play here again.
Outstanding Value
Great course for the money. Found staff to be friendly and helpful. God conditions as well.
Was treated like I did something wrong using golf now
Was treated like I did something wrong using golf now
The cart paths need repaired
Alot of holes on cart path hurt my back driving over all the holes and bumps
Holiday play
I was very unimpressed with this course-in general it is not very well taken care of. The price is fine for the quality of the course.
always a pleasure
always enjoy playing this course. greens always roll true everything mowed very nicely. enjoyed a nice 4 hour round with buddies on a beautiful day!
bittersweet
course has a nice layout but the condition of the fairways was not very good.
What do you expect in August? They dont have irrigation in the rough out there and if they didnt water the fairways in the middle of the afternoon to cool the grass down then there would be no grass to play on. Just letting you know that these people out here work very hard with a minimal staff.
