Benvenue Country Club in Rocky Mount, North Carolina is home to an original Donald Ross design. The golf course has been a local favorite since first opening in 1922. The signature feature of the layout's design is the small, fast greens with undulating breaks that will challenge even the best golfers. Like any classic Donald Ross layout, the golf course demands accurate tee shots and precise iron play. The front nine stretches across a mostly open terrain with the main challenges coming from the bunkered greens. In contrast, Benvenue Country Club's longer back nine has more trees as well as more penalty ditches to look out for. The fourth hole is considered the golf course's most difficult. This long hole features out-of-bounds lining the entire right side of the fairway and three bunkers tightly hugging the narrow opening to the green.
