Ironclad Golf and Beer Garden
About
Ironclad Golf and Beer Garden (formerly known as Belvedere Country Club) in Hampstead begins along the Intracoastal Waterway and then moves inland towards the clubhouse. The back nine is routed through tall forests that provide a home to grey heron and osprey. The golf course forms a large figure eight, which means you won't find any parallel fairways, but you will also be faced with wind whipping in every direction. The unique layout consists of six par 3s, seven par 4s, and five par 5s that all place a heavier emphasis on accuracy than distance. Many of the greens are elevated and the fairways are lined with trees. The par 3s are some of the most demanding holes due to their small, narrow greens. They are the toughest greens to hit in regulation but luckily if your placement isn't perfect there are still opportunities to save your score.

To wish I lived closer
Good course conditions for early Spring golf. Stayed after for food, brews, live music and farmers market. This is a Great atmosphere to be around. Thanks to all the friendly staff
Ironclad
Owners of course have invested in upgrading the course and facilities. Currently under construction i.e. temporary greens, new irrigation system and new driving range. Should be in much better shape in the fall.
Disappointed
Course is still under repair and no discount on replay round.
It's obvious the new owners have put a lot of time, effort, and money into the course. It has significantly improved since I first started playing there. Keep up the good work.
Restoration coming along
Couple of temporary greens but other than that the restoration is impressive. Greens they have completed remind me of Pinehurst greens. Beer cart came by three times. That’s two more than I’ve seen anywhere else. Beer garden after the round was great!
Honest Review
Course coming along. Played front nine and something happened on back 9 pile up at 10th hole called it a day.
Good golf and better tacos!
I play this course often as it is local and affordable. I played on MLK day and it got backed up quick with a lot of kids playing. Usually it’s wide open. Greens are in really good condition and hopefully in the spring the fairways will match. They’ve done a lot of work to the course, great staff, and Shaka tacos is a great way to end a round!
Great bang for the buck
Irrigation system in place for next year, Greens
which have been under repair shaping up.
Have done a lot of work on course over the last year. Should be in great shape for next year.
Better Every Week
Improvements every week, crews and staff working hard.
Cart Path only
It was cart path only for a very good reason. The course was wet after the recent soaking rains.
However, there were only a few places where you had to maneuver around standing water in the fairway or sand traps. Most of the heavy water was near the cart paths or outlying areas
I was pleased to see that the new bridge between #’s 16 &17 was now open. Also the limestone cart paths on 16 & 17 were coming along nicely.
Happy to see all the improvements that are being made…keep it up!
Nice to get out and play a round
It was a nice December day to play golf. Even though a lot of people were playing the pace of play was good.
We could see that the management was still working on improving the course and anticipate that it will be better in 2024…using a few temporary greens will give the renovated greens a chance to be completely ready next year.
Better Every Week
Management working hard on improvements.
Appears sprinkler lines ready to go.
Fun course can’t beat it for the $$$
Horrendous Greens
The fairways were playable. The greens were not. Too hard poor grass cover. Some were under maintenanceand were replaced using artificial plastic grass rugs. Useless for putting.
