Good practice course

Green Oaks is a good practice course for the beginner. There are no sand traps to deal with and a the fairways are hard pan with crab grass. You have to hit the ball! With the feel of the golf course built on a cow pasture and ground being very hard, miss hits will cost you. Hit behind the ball a few times you will feel it in the wrist, as well as it costing you in strokes. I would not recommend it for tournament of any caliber but to go out with a friend and play a round for fun or the beginning golfer it's perfect. Rolling hills and decent greens give the course character and the golfer a little bit of a challenge on the scorecard. I come to this course a few times a year myself and enjoy playing. As long as you realize your not going to be playing at pebble Beach and play the course for what it is you will have fun. $20 dollars to play a course... what more do you expect? Go out to enjoy a day of golf, it's better than work.

Don't Waste Your Time

Green Oaks is a pretty poor choice for a course. I would only consider this as a last resort. The course is very inexpensive and it shows. Lots of weeds in fairways and greens. Some of the holes little or no fairway to speak of, which makes it hard to decide where to hit your tee shot. There is some elevation change as the course sits on top of an old mine.
