course was way too crowded

our mid morning tee time reserved a week ahead was delayed due to groups packed in too tightly. This made it very difficult for groups to stretch out into a reasonable pace. Also there were no employees out on the course to help move it along or even come to explain what the problem was.

Major Tree removal

This course is great shape, Warrior owners are spending lots of money to draw play. They were putting lots of fertilize down the day we played. its awesome to see the work they are doing, it will pay off. GREAT JOB Warrior.

Yes Sir

Course in great condition with greens perfect and fast. This is a must play and they have it going on. Nice pro shop with great prices on balls etc. If it weren't 1 hour drive would play every week. Kudos on a great job all the way around.

Warrior Golf Club

For my money, Warrior is the best course in the Rowan-Cabarrus County area.. The conditions are always top notch. The bermuda grass greens have had a chance to mature and roll quite true. The fairways are always in great shape, and the rough is demanding but not overly penal. Improvements continue as two bunkers were rebuilt this spring. The club also got new electric carts with GPS this year. The layout presents a great variety of scorable holes intermixed with demanding ones. There are three par 3's on the front, while the most scorable stretch of the course is holes 13-18 that features two par 5 and three short par 4's.

Warrior the good and what needs improved

Played 9 with one other. Really like the layout compared to other courses in the greater Charlotte area and is very serene-hilly=quiet. It is way way off the highway so a real hike to get to. Very good practice range area and green, Fairways excellent. Bunkers like a brick and did rain 2 days before but not the day before. Favorite carts ever quiet , smooth, gives yardage and did not have to back out one time. They charged $10 separate cart fee for 9 which is the most I have paid for 9. I understand there is expense wear and tear on the carts. They should cut it in half for 9 and make it $5. It was a expensive 9 holes for a weekday senior so I will wait until after pandemic is over to go back. Also they sand and verticut the greens on mondays during the summer and wish they would have told me that when I called that morning. I think they are in good shape and thankfully they are not the mini verde that many courses have put in. One other thing some of the holes are a good distance between and they dont have good signage on which way to go until you are about at the next hole. IF you have not played it you should give it a try if you dont mind the drive.

Nice Place

Greens receptive and fast as well very large. Fairways nice and tee boxes good. Concrete cart paths with GPS on carts. This is a very nice course all the way around. Only problem was a foursome jumped in front of us on tenth tee making the back nine excruciatingly SLOW. You won't be disappointed. Very nice greens.

Outstanding

Warrior has some of the best greens in the greater Charlotte area. They have a lot of slope and role absolutely pure. Truly can’t be surpassed. Overall, the course is a wonderful track, with a few blind shots (even into greens), but also, plenty of opportunities to score if you hit good shots. The pace of play on weekends can be a little slow, but I was able to fly through it on a weekday. I would recommend Warrior to anyone.

Underwhelming and Disappointing

When your introduction to a new course is a "20 minute delay" getting off the first tee (actually 40 minutes), it's not good. Because of COVID-19, the course was permitting golfers to ride in their own cards if they chose, and the course ran out of carts because of a tight tee sheet with 8-minute intervals. I find this to be an oversight by management, because we barely finished our round despite having scheduled a tee time more than 5 hours before sunset. If you're going to permit single carts, you need to space tee times out.

The front nine holes were very forgettable, and the back nine didn't really utilize the great property on the lake well. In fact, that lake only came into play on three holes. Couple that with very dry conditions, extremely difficult pin positions, and its remote location, and I was not impressed at all. There are just too many closer and better courses closer to Charlotte for the same price ($47 on a Saturday afternoon) or better. I will not likely return.

Saturday and Sunday Texas scramble

Played Warrior for a Saturday and Sunday scramble and the course is in decent shape for winter. I understand that the greens were replaced recently and they are pristine and very fast. Course is not too long at all from the white tees. It plays long from the blue and can be quite a challenge. Overall a very nice course but it can be expensive on the weekend.

Beautiful Course Around a Lake

This was my first time playing this course. After being in the Charlotte area for 8 months now and paying around $60 on average to play below average quality courses, this course was a pleasant surprise.

Played the day after a large storm, and the entire round was overcast with a slight mist. Course drained extremely well.

Fairways were pretty forgiving, yet still played fast. Rough wasn't too difficult in most areas. Bunkers could use some work.

The greens were phenomenal. The Bermuda greens rolled very true and players really seemed to pride themselves on this course, as there were very few pitch marks from the groups in front us. They weren't fasted greens, but undulation and subtle grain direction change made them feel quick in spots.

Its about a 40 min drive north of uptown, but definitely a nice little trip there is worth.

overall impression - I will definitely be back.

Warrior Golf Club

Warrior Golf Club has reopened after closing to redo their greens and remove trees, and the results are great! The course reopened at the beginning of August after being closed all summer. Warrior has always been a well maintained course, but the old bent grass greens just couldn't take the hot summers. They have been replaced with Champions bermuda and the new greens are excellent! The club has also removed trees on just about every hole, mostly around greens in order to improve air flow, and that has made an incredible difference as well. The course is much more playable for all ability levels and doesn't feel as claustrophobic as it did previously. They have grown the rough up to offset the tree removal on most holes, but that is fine; you can play from the rough, not so much from the trees. The fairways are phenomenal. Tee boxes are a little shaggy in some spots as they allow them to grow in, but overall in good shape. The carts are updated and have in-cart GPS. My only gripe would be that some of the cart paths need replacing.
The layout is great with five par 3's and four par 5's. Water comes into play on three or four holes. There is a decent amount of elevation change, but it is mostly subtle and not drastic. There are a few gentle dogleg holes as well.
The staff is very friendly, and the clubhouse has a grill, locker rooms, and fully stocked pro-shop.
If you've avoided playing Warrior in recent years due to the greens, do yourself a favor and give it another shot.

Not a $60.00 course

I had friends in from out of state and haven't played the Warrior yet this season. I called last week to ask about conditions and was told the course was perfect. Tee boxes are dead, fairways average and greens are ok, major work is being done around the course. I would say $40 for weekend and 25 / 29 during the week. $60 bucks for that was ridiculous. I won't be back at that price.

Warrior Golf Club

Got out to Warrior almost one year to the date since my last visit. As is usually the case, the pro shop and outside staff were very helpful and friendly. The grill was closed (I did tee off after 5:30pm on a Thursday), but they had plenty of ice in the pro-shop and coolers on the carts, which was a great help on a brutally hot day. Speaking of the carts, they have been upgraded in the last 18 months to new models that have on-board GPS yardages and electronic scoring. If GPS isn't your thing, the club also had complimentary yardage books/course guides available, a great perk in my opinion.
I'm not sure what may have changed in the 10 days since the previous review, but I found almost the exact opposite to be the case. The recent hot weather has allowed the bermuda and fescue on the tees, fairways, and rough to thrive. From tee to green, the course is in the best shape I've seen it in quite some time. The same can't be said for the greens however. The hot weather is just too much for the A-1 bent grass to handle. The course is taking every step they can to help the greens, including mini-punching and sanding the greens each Monday, but they are at the mercy of the weather. The two bunkers I was in during the round were well taken care of and had plenty of sand in them.
If the staff can keep the greens alive through the rest of the summer, I think Warrior will be in amazing shape once the Fall rolls around. I will definitely be back to check it out.

Course Quality Declining

Course quality is declining, greens were good as usual, but overall course tee to green is slipping. My knock on this course for years has been the rate they charge for this course, even at 5pm I paid 29 dollars. Rack rate runs 55-59 on weekends! I like the course layout and usually enjoy playing here, but the negatives are starting to out weigh the positives.

Course conditions have improved considerably since my last review in 2017. Greens have been changed over to a more drought tolerant grass. Rates are still high compared to other similar courses n the area. Pace of play has be a little slower lately, but still enjoy playing this course whenever possible.

Not up to par

Very disappointed in condition of this beautiful golf course, no sand in traps, most tee boxes bare, fairways a lot to be desired, lack of landscaping. The only upside was that the greens putted well. I never thought I'd see this course lack so much. In years past this golf was always in great condition.. What has happen?
