Finley Golf Club is owned and operated by the University of North Carolina, but it is open to the public. It is ranked as one of the top 10 collegiate courses in the country as well as one of the top public golf courses in North Carolina. Tom Fazio designed the challenging layout, incorporating his signature false fronts and greenside bunkers. There are many risk-reward opportunities that give you different ways to play each hole, offering you a chance at a birdie or two. The par 5s can be reached in two but they are severely punishing if you miss the green, and the par 3s can be treacherous as well. The great layout only plays a part of the golf course's popularity though. It is also known for its excellent conditions throughout the year, especially on the greens.
