Great Course
Beautiful golf course. The staff is excellent, pace of play is unmatched, conditions are near perfect and the overall experience is 5 star.
Great mountain course
Beautiful and beautifully maintained. My playing partner said they were the best greens he has ever played, and I couldn't disagree.
They were PGA fast though, and with the slope of the greens they were both tough to hold and tougher to putt. I am a pretty consistent putter and had 4 or 5 three putts and a four putt.
The Hatalsky designed layout beautifully uses the natural slopes and only one hole, #6, really give you overly penal shots that you often see on mountain courses.
It's a shame that more people can't play a course like this - it is a fine experience and we were lucky to know a member to be able to play (the fee paid was the cart fee only - not greens fees). But if more people played it, the pristine conditions probably couldn't be maintained.
Beautiful Pain
Was very excited to play on a beautiful mountain course but man was it a tough day. Everything was great, good course conditions and great weather. Fairways were narrow and rolling with small fast greens. For the average player it was a tough day. For a moment of honesty I don't like to club down and play conservative which would have made my day easier. Had a couple members jump out in front of us on the back 9 which slowed our day to a halt which was disappointing but it was better than a day in the office! I would play again but it would be another beautiful day on a beautiful course getting my butt kicked by nature and losing a bag of balls!
