Lochmere Golf Club in Cary, N.C. is a favorite among locals for its friendly atmosphere and challenging layout. Despite being bordered by housing developments, the scenic course has a secluded, pastoral feel. The course features tight, tree-lined fairways that demand accuracy off the tee and small greens that are heavily guarded by bunkers. Golfers will need to have pinpoint control over their approach shots to tackle the tough greens. While the mature trees and bunkers provide many challenges, the presence of water on nearly every hole is the most dominant obstacle throughout the golf course. The nearby Swift Creek supplies the abundant water hazards. Straight hitters will work their way through this relatively short course fairly painlessly, but it is not a forgiving layout to wayward shots. Lochmere Golf Club also has a driving range and practice green available.
