Nostalgic Course

Course designed by Donald Ross years ago, played frequently by Sam Snead,,so the course has some history.. Not a long course by modern standards, not sure if tees have ever been moved back to lengthen some of the holes, but fun to play. Staff is always pleasant and grill is as usual a great place to end the round,. Really enjoy this course and play several times a year. Sure wish they could do something about the power lines that cross a couple of the fairways..just takes away from the look of the course.

Very disappointed in the staff, played there many times and got kicked off the course today. Said I did not pay for 18, but I said 18 and they said give me the walking rate for 20$. But the funny thing is the walking rate for the weekend for 9, since I did not pay for 18 is 18$. TERRIBLE.

A Country Golf Courses

Everything was nice. We was running a little late & the guy in the Pro shop said, "it'll be ok." The course wasn't crowded. Fairways was good & only 1 green was mess up. There were plenty of blind shots. It's a challenging course for someone playing there for the first time. Had a great playing here.

Best bang for the buck in 30 miles

Some really nice holes, some are more difficult. I would consider this my home course because it's an overall excellent value with a nice playing course great staff and full bar/restaurant. It's also a great place to bring the family for dinner. 17 is and will always be my nemesis it owes me a cool 2 dozen balls over the past year

Course needs overall work to course

Course not laid out for a visitor or first time player. Tee markers missing on 3 holes., greens were fair, except 18; POOR! Fairways were rocky and bare. Poor course drainage

Hidden Little Gem

Badin Inn is greening up nicely. The course is not overly long but there is plenty of elevation change. There are a few quirky holes (3, 6, 7, and 12), so course knowledge goes a long way. The greens were a little slow on this day, but I'm sure will speed up as the weather warms. The restaurant is excellent, and the Inn, golf course, and surrounding town are one of the most unique settings I've ever played golf in.

Badin is challenging but fun

This is an older course and the fairways are very right and a lot of blind shots, but it does make it for a fun course to play because of the challenges. The restaurant food was really great and the staff is super friendly.

Some Blind Shots.

Overall the course is very playable, especially if you can ride up to see landing areas. Shortish and very much a "mountain" feel to it being so hilly. If in the area, give them a call and bring "the straightball" from the back tees.

Dave

3 holes were under repair... The overall condition was not up to par... Mowing was neglected in several areas.. Greens lacked water or something were as hard as concrete...

You might want to wait a while before playing here

Played Badin yesterday afternoon, while it was explained that some improvements were being made, the course is not ready for play. 3 of the holes have temporary greens, that isn't a good explaination of a mowed spot in a pasture.

It will be a few months before this course wil mend.

nice course

i liked this course. the weather in the carolinas isn't great yet, so i'm sure that the fairways will be even better in another month, but i still found them playable. the staff was nice. i found the layout to be a bit tricky...there were a few times where i was searching for the next hole (the course sits on 2 sides of a street so you have to cross it a few times during 18 holes)

i would definitely play this course again

Staff and course was great

The course is fun to play and the staff is very friendly. I think they should have more signs for directions as the holes seem to cross path some. The greens are small and hard so play for the front of it. It was a nice and relaxing round and can't wait to play there again. Thanks to all, everyone was kind and helpful.

Great Course

course has great conditions right now. Very tight fairways and plays almost like a foothills course with a lot of ups and downs. Very small greens require precise approach shots or you won't shoot low. Name of the game here is accurate tee shots and approaches. If either is off you'll shoot 10 strokes higher than you're used to. Greens are in phenominal shape. Firm and true.

Course was average at best;

This was the first time I had played the course and enjoyed it, but the only problem my group had was a lack of instruction from green to tee box. Several times we spent a while looking for the next tee---a few signs would be beneficial to guest.
