ClubhouseReviews
Have played Twin Hills many times over the years. I suppose allowances have to be made for the fact that this was 2nd to last operational day of the season. Tee markers had been removed and the greens were shaggy
This gem needs polish!
A classic Pete Craig Rochester-area golf course. Very scenic layout.
Under a new owner - a construction company CEO whose bio talks about quality and service to customers - but it doesn't show here.
The carts were just plain dirty! Mud on the floors and dirty cup/ball holders.
Range balls, some of them had bad serious flaws and a couple even had chunks taken out of the balls, and yet they were still put in the buckets. Didn't get our money's worth there.
The fairways and greens were mostly decent.
The tee boxes were awful - lots of old divot holes that were never filled in with sand/seed mix. This is about as basic as it gets when it comes to golf course management
It's worth playing once because it's a Pete Craig design. He is a local legend who was a self-trained golf course architect who designed some of the better public/private layouts in Monroe County!
Pete Craig courses: Blue Heron, Wildwood, Shadow lake, Salmon Creek, Mendon (front 9 formerly Green Hills) and Penfield Country Club among others.
Twin Hills
The large greens are always in great shape here. Imagine layout, good use of the creek and evaluation changes
Nice course
I like playing Twin Hills. Staff is great and friendly. Course was in good shape today. My only negative is that I wish they would add additional tee boxes for the golds. I would like to see them back from the Red's. Somewhere between the whites, and reds would be more challenging for those that find whites too challenging, but Red's not enough of a challenge.
Rough is thick and challenging
Hot day with temperature in the 90’s - last blast of summer. Not a lot of people out in the heat so the pace was good and I finished in under 3 hours. Some spots were pretty firm due to very little rain of late. Keep the ball in the fairway as the rough is grown in and very thick in spots which cost me a stroke here and there. The greens were in good shape and rolling nicely but they seemed a little slow and that could have been due to the high humidity since they were mowed nicely and held approach shots with a little roll out.
Great Value - Last round of the season
The course was in great Fall shape. Pace of play was good. Greens were average speed. Beautiful day made the golf all the more enjoyable.
Fall Golf
It was a cold Fall day so the course was not very busy. Conditions for late October were pretty good. For the most part the Leaves were not too bad with the exception of a couple holes. Staff is always friendly . The course is fairly short but the greens are the real defense.
Twin hills
Always in excellent shape, short but tough greens. Always a pleasure to plat!
Absolute gem
Absolutely love this course. Great layout, perfectly manicured. Very challenging, but not impossible. Scenery is very nice and holes have tons of character. A must play!!!!!
Twinhills
The course is in good shape. The only area of concern is the cart paths need attention. There are low areas which are holding water, pot holes in the path and stumps that should be removed.
Nice late summer round
We played as a twosome and a foursome did let some groups play through but we had a slow back nine. We played in less than 4 hours. The course was pretty wet from all of the recent rain but not unplayable. The greens held nicely and rolled well.
Great layout
It's a very fun course with great scenery! My only issue was that the pace of play was way too slow.
Slow weekend round
I am used to playing during the week when pace is 4 hours and usually less. The ranger was out but it was just plain slow. Two of our group left after the 15th as they had to be somewhere. The course continues to be in great shape - tees, fairways and greens so that keeps it enjoyable.
Fun round with another twosome
Course is in nice shape as they are keeping it watered through our drought. Greens are rolling nicely.
