Narrow holes
Overall a good course to play with anyone! Not a lot of players during the week. Holes were narrow and fairways were 8/10. Greens were very nice. Overall course and facility is about an 8.5/10.
New owner new course
When me and a friend played it was freshly mowed. This course is maintained by the town so it's cut when they have time. But it also helps on the price ranging from 10 to 16 dollars you get a lot. It's not a long course and doesn't have many long holes but very tricky with bends and trees. It's funny to play and wasn't to busy and it's worth it's price.
Lawn Mowers?
this place looked great when we looked at it driving by through DE park. And so did it on the first tee box. But once we got out there on the fairways we couldn't find our balls easily, grass was long even in some cases in the fairways. It was terrible because I went through probably 3 balls on 3 holes and I know the game well. Holes here did have character though which made it interesting. It isn't in the best place its on the lake shore of Ontario but on the 5th tee box you can see the wastewater treatment plant and can smell it but other than that this palce has great widllife with deer allover and some scenes of the lake. but one tip don't walk It wore me out by the 6th o 7th hole. but the news is this palce is going to be under new management soon so this review may be false in the near future.
Character Trumps All Else
There is a lot NOT to like about this Rochester muni -- it most likely gets really wet when it rains, the bunkers were taken out years ago to lower maint costs, the general conditions are hardly great -- I mean it is a muni after all. However, this course has character: the variety of the holes, the overall up-and-down layout, the away-from-it-all setting among 70-80 foot trees, the elevated tees, and the greens with humps and bumps worthy of Scotland made it a wonderful day for me. The price is cheap ($17.50 for me that day with pull cart), and, it is a great course to walk, especially if you don't mind a little cardio now and then.
Yeah, the wastewater treatment plant is kind of a bummer for sight and smell.
Personally, I've never found the course particularly difficult to walk, though.
