Good track poor condition
Good track
Needs work
Greens were in poor shape
Aeration on fairways
Some traps had new sand
Most traps unraked
Other traps had very old sand which was like mud
A few traps were overgrown with no sand just weeds
Course Conditions
The course was not even in decent shape. Greens were extremely slow and in poor condition.
Very disappointing for the money spent on the round.
Very dissapointing
For the money, it's just not worth it. The bunkers are a disgrace. Flat greens, muni style. The facilities could use a coat of paint. What existed of the staff was friendly. The course was not much of a challenge and in no way, shape or form is worth paying 100 dollars for.
good track, wide fairways , slow greens , some bunkers need work. Overall for the price , pace of play it's a good deal.
Interesting track
Great layout and some challenging holes. A few holes have bunkers under construction. Overall course is in nice shape, greens are very slow but have some interesting pin placements.
This club has had a lot of ups and downs over the years but you can see they are really trying to bring it back. The clubhouse is like walking into a ‘70’s time warp. The layout is very weird and they should have a better system for the bagdrop.
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
Give it a try,
Interesting and fun parkland course
This is an enjoyable course with a fun, strategic layout. The course condition was very good. It has a good variety of fairway movement, doglegs, long and short holes. Nice bunkering. It is easy to walk with some property elevation but nothing severe, except for the 17th which is nicely routed with a big downhill tee shot to a sharp dogleg left fairway. The greens are decently large with nice slopes- makes the reads interesting without being extreme. A couple of holes have ponds in play. The last few holes take the driver out of your hands with the fairway angles off the tee. The range and other facilities are quite dated and the service was very good.
This course is fun, challenging and beautiful.
I played Cedarbrook yesterday in the afternoon. I had the course almost all to myself. All the playing surfaces were lush and healthy. The putting greens and approach areas, while they appear to have been recently aerated, were firm and provided a true roll. I was able to make several long putts and get the ball to release close to the pin on chips and pitches. The course makes the extra effort to cut the tee, putting green and approach areas with walking mowers. Those areas were all freshly cut in narrow stripes that only a walking mower provides. The fairways were also freshly cut and striped. On holes #2 and #11, both par-3, I could see that 2-3 bunkers were in the process of renovation. It was a brief distraction as the holes are both still immensely enjoyable and playable. If you hit into the area under repair, you get to take a free drop. The bunkers overall were decent, but they need further consistency. Some bunkers were in better condition than others. The course plays long from the back tees. The par-4 4th hole from the tips must be close to 470 yards up hill with out of bounds all along the left side. The back nine offers diversity in terms of terrain. The par-4 16th hole dog-legs down from an elevated tee box into a low-lying ravine area and requires two long and accurate shots to reach the green which is guarded by a pond. It is a great move by Golf Now to add a course of this caliber. Cedarbrook is located in a very upscale area. It's a beautiful tract of land and it made for a very enjoyable round of golf. They also had several very nice practice areas for chipping, putting, irons, etc available for use which helped me warm up.
3-4 Years before playable
This course is unplayable. Every hole was under repair. It looks like this course has been sitting for 2 years without upkeep. They had trucks driving on the course dropping dirt and topsoil into bunkers while we were putting. Very dangerous, see pictures. Aeration was horrible. Golfnow didn't have aeration alert or course under repair listed at all. We asked politely after the second hole if there was any way to get a refund. The course said we needed to ask Golfnow. I've never been so upset at a golfing experience. This course is about 3-4 years away from being a $50 course, let alone the $99 +fees per person I paid for myself and my guest. I was so embarrassed taking him here, after the nice course he took me to. Golfnow should pull this course!!!!!!! I've been looking for a email of Golfnow but can't find one online. This was a horrible and embarrassing experience. Why is Golfnow putting this course on it's website!!!!!
I am the head golf golf pro here at Cedar Brook. I would like to apologize to the group that had a poor experience, thats not what we want. I wish someone had explained to you before hand we are renovating a few of our sand traps and that we had air raided the greens a month ago. I can understand you being upset. I would like to offer your group a complimentary round as a way to say we are sorry. in a week the greens will be in perfect condition and I feel we can give you a better experience. Again sorry for the inconvenience.
