Tight Adirondack Course
Previous reviews and the fact that the course was built in the 1920s had me hoping for more. First, the greens had recently been aerated which I was not told about and was still charged full greens fees. Second, I had assumed, since it was in the Adirondacks that there would be better land movement; however, the course plays over rather uninspired terrain. Finally, the greens seemed rather lacking in undulation and charms that one usually finds in courses from the 20s.
The course was not a bad course, just not one that I would seek out if on vacation.
Great Course
I play this course at least once a year on my annual buddies trip and it never disappoints. The course is always in great condition, and the back especially is very challenging. It isn't the longest course, but there are a lot of demanding shots.
The Staff is always very nice, and the food and drinks are always on point as well. I don't believe I have ever seen a cart girl on the course, so be prepared to stock up at the turn. and when you sign in.
I wish they would upgrade their carts, but all in all this is a fantastic course. One of the best in the Adirondacks.
Fall Play
Deceiving course, hard because it is tree lined on every hole. Tight par threes, #6 par three plays like an island green protected by water in the front and surrounded by trees, runs fast to the water.
Tough course
I have played here for decades. It is always challenging with the mountain terrain and tree lined fairways. greens are always really nice and it is well kept. It is a beautiful course and even better in the fall.
It also has a quirky character to it. It is not a PGA type of course, a couple holes are short and a couple kind of long. Hole #6 Par three is real tough over water surrounded by trees, and the green runs fast to the water.
Great Mountain course
Trees line the lush fairways and the greens are well kept. Challenging yet serene.
