Stick to the county courses
It's been several years since I last played this course (before new ownership) and while they have made some improvements to the greens and fairways, the sand traps are in terrible shape. Many have rocks and stones throughout, some were muddy. Not the type of quality you expect from a course on the verge of going fully private.
Gem --
Great course -- improved conditions over the past few years. They are moving to all private in 2024 sadly for those of us who cannot play enough to justify a private club.
Tilly gem
Awesome layout with typical Tilly greens. Course in great shape tee to green. Worth the drive from Bergen county
Tillinhous gem
Great layout being brought back to life in fantastic ways the to green. Course is a good challenge, but fair. Love it.
Worth the hour plus drive for me. Wish it were closer to home.
Great improvements everywhere
Have witnessed the tremendous changes in the course everywhere. Tillinghous gem in great shape tree to green. Upgrades continue with the grand clubhouse soon to open. Highly recommend.
Way overpriced vanilla served by rude Soprano wannabes
Could go on and on about why you should stay away but I’ve already wasted too much of my time and money on this course.
Stay away. They don’t want your business anyway.
Poorly run public course trying to be a club
Clearly the owner has put money into the course but they run it like a bad public course. They now have you parking away from the start of the course and carry your bags a long way to and from your car. They are never nice and the "membership" is really just a way to access tee times 3 days earlier. They hold all the morning tee times on the weekends so members can't even get the morning slots. With the new wedding pavilion the focus is now on maximizing that revenue so the course and how you are treated will continue to go down. Unless this becomes a true golf club the experience isn't worth the money!
Painfully slow round
If you’re prepared for a 5.5-6 hour round for a premium price, this is the course for you. We played the front nine in nearly 3 hours, then made the turn and realized the two groups in front of us paired up together and were playing as a group of 6. We called the clubhouse and the guy hung up on us twice when we asked if we could get a partial refund if we walked off. A ranger finally came and broke them up, but the damage was done. 10-11-12 took over an hour for just the three holes. We walked off after 12 holes in 4 hours. No rangers or starter managing the course and maintaining the pace.
The course itself is a great layout and in excellent shape, but all in all not worth the money unless you’re willing to kill your entire day out there.
Very nice
They have done a great job with this course, the course conditioning is very good. Hopefully the greens speed up a little in September. My only gripe is the parking and bag drop location. Too much walking for people with bad knees.
Suneagles
Course is in nice shape fairways and greens all good the 6th green is finished and perfect
Better than it’s ever been
I have always enjoyed playing Sun Eagle’s but haven’t had the chance to play it this season until recently. The course is in incredible shape and has never looked better. The staff was incredibly accommodating and for such a beautiful day on a weekend the pace of play was perfect. Our group didn’t have to wait on a single tee box or for any green to clear. It’s worth every penny and it will be a sad day if/when it ever goes private.
Missing some amenities
Great course which they’re putting a lot of money into. Usual rate is $125.
No ball washers though. Seems like nonsense but for the price to play you should have basic amenities.
They need more bathrooms on the course , and I didn’t see a beverage cart one time during the round.
