Sierra Sage Golf Course has a classic desert layout conveniently located just north of downtown Reno. The golf course features small, fast greens and generous fairways lined with native vegetation. There are elevation changes that can cause tricky lies and bunkers strategically placed throughout. Water hazards come into play on four holes. There are also multi-tiered greens scattered across the golf course to provide another challenging element. Sierra Sage Golf Course also offers an all-grass driving range, two putting greens, and a bunkered chipping green for golfers to use. The course is a local favorite due to the player-friendly layout and affordable rates.

Good value

Tee'd of at 5:40 a.m. and weather was perfect. Pretty straight forward course. A couple of long par fours as well as some almost drivable par 4's so offer variety. For the price the fairways are good and the greens are better than expected! Wide fairways but anything off the fairway is in the sagebrush so hit em straight!

winter conditions but good course

Had the pleasure to play Sierra Sage. The course is in fair condition only because of winter conditions. Fairways are frozen as are the greens. Play the course as a dunes course. Hit short of the greens and let the ball roll. Stopping a ball on the greens is difficult as they have perma frost and are hard and fast. Fun to play and will play again.

Reno's Hidden Gem

I rarely give away where I really enjoy golfing in Reno. Sierra Sage is a hidden gem for golfing in Reno. The course is laid out superbly and has lots of different elements to test your skills. I have been playing here for about 20 years and the course just keeps getting better with great fairways, rough and fast and slow greens. My only negative is there are a few older players who will rarely let you play through when they are playing slow. Management may want to remind the older and new player of the rules to let faster golfers play through so everyone can enjoy the game. Really love the 19th hole to brag about how badly we played.

Fun course

This is a classic high desert course. Fairways are generous, but don't miss or you're in the sage brush. Grounds crew keeps the course in great shape. Great practice facilities. Real grass driving range. Knowledgeable staff, that keeps things running well on busy days. All around good experience.
