As a member of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program, Rosewood Lakes Golf Course sprawls across a picturesque landscape sprinkled with scenic wetlands and home to native wildlife and waterfowl. The golf course provides a secluded getaway that is only minutes from accommodation, dining, and attractions. The Rosewood Lakes layout is known for its generous greens and tree-lined fairways that are meticulously manicured. Water hazards and bunkers make the course a formidable challenge, but its forgiving features make the golf course accessible for players of all skill levels. In addition to the course, Rosewood Lakes Golf Course has practice features including a driving range and putting greens.

Rosewood should close

They have completely stopped maintaining this course. The city is going to cut the course in half with a new expressway. Greens and Fairways are brown, full of holes and covered in survey sticks. Club house has been emptied of all supplies and you now check in at the bar. I would not golf on this brown swamp again if they paid me. They need to just close it down. Driving range you hit off dirt with no matts or grass to tee up on.

this course is the worst I have ever played

this course was nothing but dirt and hard brown grass it was not worth the money I spent playing there, myself and my friends will never go back to play. It was the worst course I have ever played and I have had my fair share of bad golf courses.

Rosewood Lakes Deal

The course was not in a very good shape mostly because of the pending changes ( proposed roadway planned through the course?)

TLC Needed!

For only paying $12 on golf now it was about what you'd expect for $12. The driving range was a dirt field w cans marked w the yardage... The course is in really bad shape. The staff was friendly a and the best part of the experience. Prob won't be back.

Closing Sun For Winter

I've played this course many times. Unfortunately, the Corps of Engineers is putting the Pyramid link which has been in the works for many year through the golf course in the near future (?). The money has been allocated to link lake Tahoe and Pyramid lake for several years. Adjacent to Rosewood lake is another course (private) named Hidden Valley. The community
of Hidden Valley is comprised of upscale homes and for that reason has been fighting the completion of the "link". No one knows when the highway will be completed, but my neighbor who is an engineer on the project tells me that the link is definitely to be finished. The city gave up on managing the course last March and leased it to a mgmnt co. The leasee has no inflated payrolls for managers or counter help, so runs as close to the bone as possible. They do not put water out for player consumption, there are no ball washers or other amenities for players.
In short, because of the ambiguous future of the golf course no money is being spent on improvements, although the cart I used Thursday had brakes which nearly put me though the windshield.
It is sad to see another golf course possibly closing because the City, County or Visitor's Authority has found it too expensive to operate
When county commissioners or other elected officials get into private enterprise the end result is usually predictable...........disaster!
Respectfully,
Jim

Hate to see it go.

This course will have a shorten life with the building of the SE Bypass next year. I will miss playing here when it closes. Overall the course is in very good condition; a few bad areas as on any course these days. With a few narrow fairways or lakes on one side and a few holes requiring a lay up which makes the round more interesting. It is one of the quietess courses in the Reno area; very relaxing. And you can't beat the price.

Accuracy Needed

The course features extensive wetland hazards on nearly every hole. There are many carries over the tules, including one completely blind shot to the fairway. These can be intimidating, and in any case, require accurate shots. I played two consecutive days, and lost 10 balls the first day, but only 3 the next. I found it quite challenging.

Goat Patch

While some of the fairways and greens were in decent shape, most were in disrepair and resemble a goat pasture. On one green there were TWO depressions the size of manholes that were areas void of grass and obviously diseased. I played at this course in the 90s when it was fairly new and it was well-kept. the layout is challenging and requires a "target golf" mentality. It's unfortunate that it has fallen into such disrepair. Even the clubhouse patio shows advanced stages of disrepair. My wife and I won't be playing here again unless there is a major overhaul.

Swan song

It is quite obvious the future of this course is in limbo. There is NO money being put into course maintenance. The cart paths are like mine fields, the fairways are in terrible shape, and the greens are awful. If there is any future at all for this course, it will take a lot of work to bring it back to playable shape. Oh, and don't forget your mosquito repellent!

Good value

The staff was very nice, and the round was very inexpensive. The cart paths are really rough, the greens are mostly average, lots of standing water.

Desperate need for repair

It is better to walk the course due too the excessive amount of pot holes on the cart path. The ground keepers need to understand golf edict, quiet machinery when golfers are putting.

Worst golf course conditions I have ever played

I did not go into the clubs resturant, the course was in very poor condition, the standing water on the cart path made it difficult to see the ruts and holes making driving the cart difficult with huge bumps, fairways did not have grass, just weeds growing throughout the course. I will never play this course again.

Wetlands, wet fairways and giant tullies

The driving range here is great. You can get a large bucket and a draft beer for$10. The course however is a disaster. Mosquito infested wetlands, puddles of water that smells like sewage in the middle of the fairways, and tullies so tall you can't see the fairway or pin when you tee off on a number of holes. For $30 its not worth it. What a shame.

you're gonna lose balls

Nice course..very challenging..the preserved wetlands throughout the course are a bit out of hand..there is no course visibility on a few of the holes. Bring extra balls..the average golfer will end up in the weeds and lose balls.

If the Tee boxes were elevated so you could see the fairway, you would have a better sense of the course. The condition of the course was horrible.

Good Value

This is a decent course and you can't beat the value. The holes are fairly challenging and the wetlands and water force you to hit straight into the fairways most of the time - which unfortunately I didn't, but I only play a few times a year. All in all I would recommend this course. It's close to the airport and downtown Reno - less than 3 miles from where we were staying in Sparks. My only complaint is it looks like they water way too much. The cart paths had tons of potholes filled with water from the irrigation and this was late morning to mid afternoon.

Very windy but great day at Rosewood Lakes

The front nine was very windy 25-30 mph with gusts up to 40. Course was in pretty good shape. Few patches in fairways that need work, but greens in good shape. Can't beat 18 holes w/ cart for $10.
