LakeRidge Golf Course
About
LakeRidge Golf Course is a Robert Trent Jones course that has consistently been voted the "Best of Reno" ever since it first opened in 1969. Though the course sits less than five miles from downtown, the surrounding mountains provide a tucked-away feel. There are some stunning views from the elevated tees but don't get too distracted, this challenging course demands your attention. Mature trees tower over the fairways but they are thankfully wide enough to offer a little room for error. Water comes into play frequently and there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along the undulating greens. Accuracy is essential at LakeRidge Golf Course. The signature hole is the par-3 15th. This tee sits atop a rocky ridge that is perched 140 feet above Lake Stanley. You'll be playing downhill to an island green on this challenging but scenic hole.

Great conditions, terrible pace
Course conditions are great as usual, starter(Jim?) does a good job getting everyone out on time. Marshall could use some coaching. Waited 4-5min on every shot after the 1st hole through 12 before we took it upon ourselves to tell the group holding everyone up to get it moving. The Marshall kept driving by them without stopping and they had an entire hole open in front of them. Their group was new to golf (multiple reloads off the tee, not playing ready-ball etc) and didn’t know the etiquette but were nice enough to pick up and move after we spoke with them. Marshall could’ve saved everyone an hour by politely speaking with them sooner. Also they seem to let “members” out in twosomes/fivesomes/whatevertheywantsomes which really screws with the pace. I get they pay more and should receive priority bookings but it’s not a country club, stick to standard pairings and tee times if it’s a public course. 3 hours to make it to the turn is brutal in summer heat.
Great day.
Very fun day of golf. Course in very good condition. User friendly layout. Island green always a highlight. Greens excellent. Quite disappointed in no driving range open.
No Range for Warmup
Played at Lakeridge many times over the years and this course is enjoyable, #15 signature hole had all 4 players on the green, making for a good round. Front 9 went smoothly and was quick, while the back 9 was held up at too many holes
Due to an excess overload of nearby condos' and construction, the driving range is closed. Not good for warming up or practicing, which affected the first few holes and left a poor start for all of our 4 players round. This is the reason for my fair rating.
The course was in good shape overall and the greens weren't too fast as we have had rain throughout the week.
Enjoyed it, even with the quick weather change
The course was in very good shape. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The weather change was expected and we played thru it, light rain but heavy wind and thunder. Fun anyway.
Then white claws go down way too easy
Great course with friendly staff, white claws go down a lot quicker here so be careful not to get to tipsy!
Excellent course - staff a little pushy
Playing a round at 6:54 AM, we were on pace for a 3:45 round when the Marshall physically followed one of our players through two holes and antagonized him to play fast. He’s the newest player in our group, and it ruined our experience. As a point of reference, everyone else shot under 90 and we were not playing slow at all.
The course itself is great, the back tees offer a nice experience without being too long for a single digit handicap.
Driving Range?
Too bad the driving range is gone. Looks like the netted hitting area is going to be quite minimal. Why not build a larger hitting net were the old driving range was? This is a problem that needs a better solution. I'll go hit some balls at Washoe.
Gorgeous Golf Course!
Loved it, amazing staff, bought shoes/sunglasses in the shop. Will at hole 18 was wonderful.
Fast greens
Course is in great shape, greens are very fast. The pace of play was much better this weekend
Nice course/uptight marshalls
I’ve played here for 30+ years and it’s always been a relatively good experience. Ever since Duncan Golf took this course over the relaxed friendly vibe has slowly disappeared. The starter was friendly and let us go out a few minutes early as there was plenty of room ahead of our tee time. We were 15 minutes into our round and walking from out carts to the 2nd green and the marshall comes along and hints that we should play fast because they had members that would be teeing off soon and they would be unhappy if we were to hinder their pace of play. On hole number 8 he parked his cart to watch us play our approach shots to the green and then moved his cart to watch us putt out. We all felt uncomfortable with the scrutiny from this person as no other players had caught up with our group and as a matter of fact we never saw a group behind us until the 15th hole. We finished our round in 4 hours and it seemed like an appropriate amount of time to make our way around the course. If someones pace of play is causing issues then by all means give them a warning to keep up. Otherwise let the players enjoy themselves and leave them be.
