The Primm Valley Shadow Creek Course is the Tom Fazio wonder that comes to mind first in Las Vegas golf. For good reason.
But here out in the real desert right on the Nevada-California border, Fazio's created another unnatural world that seems to rise out of nowhere. The Lakes Course at Primm Valley looks like it was airlifted straight out of Michigan, Illinois or some other Midwest land with trees galore.
Everything is green here, woodsy, water gurgling. But it doesn't even stop there. Fazio attracted some birds, chirping away, to give it that middle of the woods feel.
It is Vegas showmanship at its finest, carried out where you'd least expect. The pairing of high-end golf designer Fazio and a Primm Valley casino complex that's more Tupelo, Miss., than Vegas in feel might seem like a strange one, but there is little question Fazio is capable of wowing any client base.
