Spanish Trail Golf Club may be just minutes from the Strip, but once you're on the spacious, 27-hole course, you'll hardly believe you're in Las Vegas. Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed the course, which is divided into three nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. The nines, known as the Lakes, Sunrise, and Canyon, each have a distinct characteristics and challenges. The Lakes/Sunrise golf course is arguably the most scenic combination. As its name implies, the Lakes nine has plenty of water, which comes in the form of not only lakes but also creeks and even a waterfall. The third hole on the Lakes nine is Spanish Trail's signature par 3. This scenic-but-tricky hole has one of the toughest greens on the golf course. The Sunrise nine offers some respite from the challenges of the Lakes as the most player-friendly of the three nines at Spanish Trail G.C.
