Hidden Gem
Passing through on business travel and found time to play and searched the area and found Hillside. From the time I checked in the staff was very welcoming and they knew that I was from out of town. From the practice area I was made aware that I could go off early if I’d like and we chatted about what was expected on the course and about the areas wildlife and protected areas to avoid.
The course is in fantastic shape from tee to green, with amazing views starting at the first elevated tee. The fairway is your friend as the second cut could be cruel if you happened to find it “ask how I know”. The greens are fast and true “trust what you see”, a word of advice for first time players - if pace of play permits ride up to see how the hole plays. I played what I saw, at times drove through the fairway cause if I knew I could take a different line I would have scored better “lol”. I scored 4 better than handicap with birdies on 7 and 14.
Locals go play as you don’t know what a gem you have, some of the reviews tried to deter my decision to play and so I had to see for myself. To all the staff stay true to what you are doing because its working in my view, Hillside is a must play if I find myself in the area, just my .02.
North Carolina.
Unique and fun track!
Played this course while passing through the area and am really glad we did. Nice clubhouse and friendly staff, pro shop was well appointed. The course was in really great shape, greens held well and were really fast. Course layout was great with unique holes and elevation changes. Beautiful setting with great views. Overall this was a really fun course to play and I highly recommend!
Real Gem
I’ve heard about this course for years but never had opportunity to play it until today and boy was it great. The layout is awesome. The front meanders through an old river bed, and the back plays over what I’d call a hilly park setting. For mid fall the course was in great condition. The assistant in the pro shop was very friendly and helpful. Pace of play was also great, played 18 solo in 2 hrs 35 minutes for $30, can’t be beat. If you are ever in the area, do yourself a favor and play this hidden gem.
Trash ownership
This was my first time on a golf course in my entire life. I spent almost 20$ on a rental set of clubs and was accused of being drunk because the owner watched me (not hit) a ball on a drive 4 times in a row. If you are lot a local DO NOT go to this course. They will not accept outsiders and I do not know if I will ever golf again; given my first experience.
Wonderful golf outing
Had a very enjoyable round of golf at Hillside Golf Club. The staff were very helpful to us, as we had 2 tires going flat after
hitting something on the interstate before our arrival at the course. My wife and I have played golf in 45 states in the USA,
and this will always be one of our fondest golfing memories.
Great pit stop!
I always make time to play this beautiful course when I'm passing through! Pace of play is amazing, staff is awesome, green are gorgeous! Good mix of driver grip-n-rip, and strategic 3 wood shots. Kitchen makes the best BLT in western Nebraska!
Wonderful Hillside
Outstanding pace of play, varying elevations from tee to green. Course was very good condition.
I highly recommend you put together a foursome and play Hillside.
A day trip to Cabela's and an awesome game of golf
Was heading to Cabela's for some fishing gear and checked golf now and they had a price you could not beat. This course was in great shape and beautiful! I have played two courses in the mountains and a couple nice one in Denver this month but this course was the best !! Well groomed and nice consistent greens.
p.s.
My buddy an 19 handicap player got a Hole in One on the 155 yard par three hole #14 !!!!
Beautiful Course
