It is the Prarie Hills
I play this course once a year. In the last year, the owners have made great strides, but still need a little work on the front. This course is 10 miles North of Kearney, so it doesn't get all the traffic in town courses get, that make s the pace outstanding. It is a really nice layout. The front has three holes I really like. Stay left on #5 I try to go driver short iron on #7, otherwise I'm hitting a downhill lie. #8 plays over a creek and plays long. The back is even a nicer layout. #10 has a well guarded green and makes you make a decision. If you go for it in two, you could be in real trouble. #15 is a LONG par 5, with some opportunity. There are some very difficult roughs, that make you keep it in the fairway, so sloppy play is penalized.
I really like the course. The people are really nice and the value for the layout is very good.
Still a ways to go
I had not played this course in over a year. This course allowed to go to pot and the new owners are working hard, but there is still a lot of work to do. Fairways are ok, and the greens have healed about 85%, even so they rolled pretty consistently. I like the layout, and it provides some challenge and some opportunities to score. The back had just been aerated so we did the front twice. I like the back better. The nice thing is that this course is out of town, there is not a ton of traffic on the weekend, so the pace of play is great. We paid $32 with cart on a Saturday.
Excellent
The course is in much better shape this year than last. Nice to see it coming back and as nice as it is coming along
Terry johnson
This course is in very poor condition and is under reclamation. It needs a good deal of improvement before it's ready for anything close to a regular rate for golfing. Anything over $10 for 18 holes with the cart is too much at this time.
Good course
Fun course to play, course management was very pleasant.
Great course
The back nine was temporary closed for reseeding but played the front nine twice shot my best games ever!
Hidden Gem
Didn't know what to expect. I was staying nearby during a work trip and wanted to find a course with rolling hills. A picture online of this course caught my eye so I went there instead of a course closer by. The views and the design of the course are exciting and it also has great variety of holes. Don't try to over-power the course because the long grass can be very challenging. All in all it was an excellent value and I would play here again if passing through.
