Outstanding 9

I played this course as part of my Big Red Golf Tour. I paid $12 for eighteen and a cart using my pass.

This is a par 37 course -- there are three par 5's. I typically am not a fan of the residential courses, but this one was laid out pretty well. I would not recommend walking as there are some pretty good gaps between greens and tee boxes.
Some of the marketing material call this a links course, but its not.

This course is in the best shape of any course I have played this year. The fairways were like carpet, the roughs were challenging but fair, and the greens were as true as any I have played on. Each one was in perfect shape-- no dead spots, no fungus, no nothing -- and medium fast.

My favorite holes were #2, a par three guarded by a large tree, #6 which has a blind second shot, and #9 -- a decent drive kept to the right will take the water out of play.

A nice country course

Evergreen Hills is a surprise, south of Battle Creek. The prairie grasses give it a different feel than many golf courses in the area. I have even seen it described as a links style course. The course is very fair, but enough challenges to keep it interesting. Worth the drive from Norfolk.
