When it opened in 1998, Bear Creek Golf Club was the first public course in Wentzville and now it is one of the premier public facilities in St. Charles County. In addition to being one of the most popular, it is also one of the toughest public golf courses in the St. Louis area. Gary Kern designed the championship layout and one of his primary goals was to preserve the natural features, especially the mature trees, of the existing landscape. He was successful in his design, incorporating the trees, lakes, and meandering creeks seamlessly into the golf course. The large, undulating greens are fast and will require the skillful use of your putter. The layout also features nearly 50 bunkers strategically situated along the fairways and greensides. Each hole at Bear Creek Golf Club has a unique design that takes advantage of different aspects of the terrain.
