Would be disappointed
Played with a foursome. The key to playing this course is to be in the fairway. All holes are lined with large trees, water or both. Jack designed the fairways wonderfully. The ball is generally about your feet.
Great Course. Not as great as what I had heard.
Fun course with several holes playing along the lake. Good views throughout. It was in good shape overall, but the guys I was playing with who had played it before said it was the worst they had seen it. Who knows. I had heard it was one of the top courses in Missouri. After playing it, I would say there are at least 5 courses in the Branson, MO area that are way better. I still think it was a good course, just not a $200 course. I agree with the other reviewer in that Old Kinderhook is just as good and probably more fun for $80 or so in the Lake Ozark area if you are wanting the best value with a few less lake views.
Good course, poor value
I've played Porto Cima twice with Club Corp members. It is a very nice, scenic course, but not worth $175. As a member of a Club Corp country club, I am supposed to be able to play for $110 green fees. They refused to honor that rate and charged $175. The greens are okay, but certainly not what I expected at a high dollar club. Typical Nicklaus course with some spectacular holes, but requires some hero shots that beat up mid to high handicappers. If you're in the Ozarks, play Old Kinderhook for about half the price for a better course.
