This course used to be great- it’s sad to see it in such disrepair.
Played here before and won't go back for the price
I had played this course many times before 2+ years ago. I was taking friends out who had never played there and I was excited to show them. The price took me by surprise at first but I was still excited to get back here. Once on the course you could immediately see the fairways were dead, there was weeds everywhere. Then once on the course you couldn't get a tee in the ground on their tee boxes, the ponds were disgusting and actually had a big blue trash can floating in one and the bunkers rolled faster than the cart path. The greens were in ok shape but they rolled slower than any other in Kansas City. I don't normally write reviews but I was extremely disappointed in every aspect a golf course could be rated on and despite loving this course years ago will not go back.
Great life issues
The staff inside the pro shop were great! The course is in need of watering on a consistent basis. It appears great life is ruining another great course at the expense of others. If great life would invest in grounds crew members and give them what they needed this course could be a hidden gem.
Needs some work
Tiny greens were in good condition, but the rest of the course was really rough, weeds, poor sand bunkers, poorly marked tees, took 5 minutes to find #2 and 10 minutes to find #10. Really not worth a road trip from KC.
Nice local course
Ratings by Golf Now players had this course as the best in the KC area. While a nice course, it is not the best. 18 holes are compacted into a relatively small area. While there were no true danger areas, many holes were quite close to each other and a person’s slightly errant shot could be a problem. A nice test of golf.
How cool is this place?!
Since taking over, GreatLife has made some amazing improvements! Workout facility is incredible, basement bar is out of this world, golf course has improved greatly!
