Great Round of Golf on a Friday morning.
Booked Thurs night for play next day at 11am. A group of 20 were a no show on Friday morning, so our twosome was able to get half the round completed with no waiting or anyone behind us. Thereafter we played behind several groups that kept a decent pace of play. The course was in great condition, and gave us a good variety of hole layouts to play. We really enjoyed this course.
Deer. Chase
Fun course with friendly staff. Only issue I see is that tee locations need to be better marked for first time players.
Deer Chase
Course is in great shape. Greens are a little slow, but it’s in the 90s so need to leave a little long.
Fun course and great staff. Couse was in great shape with some great views. Will definitely play again
We really enjoy this course. Very good value and in good shape.
Challenging but not unreasonably difficult, great for an average golfer like me.
Nice track
After seeing the signs for years this was the first time to play Deer Chase. Definitely off the beaten road but worth the drive. It’s a challenging course, I hit a lot of hybrids off the tee to make sure I stayed out of trouble. It was a 5 hour round, that sucked, but it was the first nice weekend day in a while and expected it, The greens were very smooth and true. Courses at The Lake of The Ozarks can get slow play a lot it seems with tourists.
Scenic Golf Course
A few friends and myself went to the Ozarks for a long golf trip weekend and we decided to play Deer Chase on a beautiful October Saturday around 11am.
Deer Chase was scenic and provided the feeling of playing in a picturesque valley you would find in a painting. (If my wife were playing she would have wanted to take a picture on every hole.).
The course was challenging, especially if you are not a straight hitter golfer. The fairway was a bit beat up, but is typical for late season rounds. The greens were in great shape!
The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Looking forward to playing again!
Course was closed...trying to get my $$ back from GolfNow
I set a tee time for Deer Chase through the GolfNow site. The course called me and apologized, but the course was closed for that afternoon due to a large event. He mentioned getting my money back from GolfNow since the course let GolfNow that the afternoon was unavailable.
I don't really care about who or how the money is returned, but finding it very hard to contact GolfNow. I responded to my confirmation email of the situation, but received no response back. I set up my account to make sure they have my contact information.
expensive and undermanaged
I was a little shocked at the $32 for 9 holes price tag. But the guy behind the counter assured me that is was a great bargain, as compared to Kinderhook or Lake Valley. Of course he made a point to let me know that he plays for free.
But that all said I went on and paid. What i found out about this great bargain was: you had to dig your own cart out of the garage, there were no ball washers on the course, there were no water jugs on the course, there is rain damage on some of the fairways, sand bunkers and cart paths.
Probably will not go back till the management wakes up.
Deer Chase
It’s been a bit dry here in the Lake of the Ozarks area and the course still had some GUR wet spots. The rough was thick but playable. Typical cut in the Ozarks type course with significant sloping fairways which were challenging and narrow. The rough could be only 5-10 yards wide and then you were in uncut natural grass (lost ball) this course requires you to be on the fairways. Quite a bit of GUR even in the fairways. Some funky holes where a course guide would have been really helpful. We played for $34.00 on a hot buy and honestly can say I wouldn’t want to have paid full rate for the course in this condition. Oh and bring your own water or refreshment as the snack shop was closed.
