Nice Course for the money
Everybody WHINING about this Course Please Never come back a hoe For the Money its a GREAT COURSE
Greens were ok.fairways were not so good.rough was terrible.
Poor Expierence
Course was in poor condition and a lot of work going on greens during putting. Staff was unfriendly and didn't seem to care. Tee boxes were very bad shape. Never returning again
Sandpits? Try Sandstone
They at least sprayed it down with weed killer to keep it from overgrowth. But clearly little care is put into the maintenance of this course. Both the fairway and the rough had grass ample tall to afford you a few lost balls. And when the fairway is large patches of dirt you know the quality is missing. Second time playing the course, and my last
Nice course
River Oaks is a great course for the price. Greens in good shape, fairways also in good shape as well. Hilly, but manageable some length to go along side 2-3 short par 4’s. Well marked for yardages coming into greens. Temp markings on teeboxes didn’t cause any confusion or problems. Overall nice place played 18 as a solo in 2hr 15min.
A typical GreatLife course
We only played the front 9 as they were doing maintenance on the back nine. Actually a nice layout, interesting for the most part, with some elevation changes. This is a typical course managed by GreatLife. Old carts, no GPS of course. They had sprayed all the bunkers with weed kill so hard to play out of them. Slow greens, with some areas of poor growth. Fairways were decent overall. There were many single golfers which slows down play, not sure why they allow singles but I have seen this at other GreatLife courses. For the money, it’s not bad, if your expectations aren’t high.
GLKC COURSE Wow Nasty Conditions!!! Never going back!
GLKC No Mowing Greens Terrible No Water and Toilets havent been cleaned since WW1 Man I Aint Never Going Back! Lost Lots of Balls just barely off fairways Due to not Mowing Needs Somebody to buy this Used to be a Nice Course and FIX THE PROBLEMS!!!
Greaaaaaaaaaaat Timereeeeere Here!!!
DO NOT LISTEN TO THE SELF ENTITLED GOLF PROS THIS COURSE FOR THE MONEY IS A FUN TIME! CHALLENGING (PROBABLY TO MUCH FOR WHINERS) WE HOPE THESE GASHOLES STAY AWAY BECAUSE WE WOULD RATHER ENJOY PLAYING WITH SOME NICE SELF RESPECTING GENTLEMEN THAT DOES NOT SPIT SUNFLOWER SEEDS ON THE GREENS OR DRINK 2 BEERS PER HOLE!!!
Good value
This course was exactly what i was looking for. The course was not in the greatest shape but the staff was very friendly and i will definitely be coming back.
Fun course
Enjoyed it a lot. Not to far out of our way and not to busy for speedy play. Will come again.
Good Old Kansas City Course
I've been playing River Oaks for about 40 years on and off, so I've seen it go through many many changes over the years. It's not country-club golf by any means, but I really like the layout because each of the holes have their own unique characteristics. Over time they've worked to make the playing conditions better and better, though that's always going to be a challenge with the low rates they charge. But the zoysia fairways are coming in nicely and the greens are always in good shape.
This isn't a course you'd invite out-of-town friends to go play because there are lots of other fancier courses in town, but if you've got a regular group of buddies who just want something fun and challenging for a good price - River Oaks is a great old course.
Great value
Great value golf course. You can tell GreatLife is putting a lot of effort and money into saving this wonderful layout!
Not what it used to be
A lot of spotty bare dirt tees, chunky lies around the green. Greens were puttable but iffy in spots. Also some weeds and bare dirt in fairways. good thing I only paid $22 otherwise i would have been miffed. But still not a bad layout and I just needed a quick round of practice. Not ready for primetime. I'd play it again for less than $25
Fun course
It was a fun course. The greens were in good shape as were the fairways. Some of the tee boxes could use a little bit of work but over all it was nice for it being the end of July and it has been 100 degrees for the last 3 weeks with very little rain.
Nice Time at River Oaks
Played the front 9 by myself. Hooked up with 3 others for the back 9 - all players were pretty good and their was no one ever in front of us to slow us down. The greens are in decent shape - soft - had some rough spots. The course is a long 6,000 from the blues. I would recommend the course and play it again.
Friendly staff
Where is the sand? Put your sand wedge away. A lot of hazards, just not intentional. Potholes need addressed, other than that enjoyed the day. Not to tough after you get passed the first hole. Great value in Grandview. Everyone there were friendly. Would recommend.
