Sun Valley Golf Course in Elsberry boasts one of the country's longest holes. Measuring a beastly 720 yards from the tips, the fifth hole is considered a par 6. It plays from an elevated tee to fiercely guarded landing area with creeks crisscrossing the fairway and the final shot plays to an elevated green. There are many challenges in store beyond just this monster of a hole, though. The golf course stretches across a rolling landscape with elevations that range from subtle to dramatic as you move from the front nine to the back. Walking the course provides a pretty intense workout. Sun Valley's greens themselves aren't too difficult, but you will definitely run into trouble if you miss them. Steeply sided bunkers and subtle contours surround them, ensuring that a flat lie will be nearly impossible to find.
