A gem in SW Missouri
Very nice public course. Great value for the money. Course is in very good shape. The new superintendent, Nate, has been a great addition.
Check with coarse first
Golf now does not communicate with the coarse so you should be checking the coarse availability prior to booking. We were lucky!
Played it several years ago
Played this course several years ago so not sure of the current course conditions as I am speaking from a few years back. The course conditions were fair, the greens were decent, grass was sparse in a few places. My main buggaboo was the pace of play. Played it a couple times and it was very very slow. Wondering how the tornado that went through a year or two ago effected the course?!?
Good value
It was a hot day. The course was in good condition for the heat. The tee boxes were in fine shape, the fairways were good for the heated conditions, the rough was a little spotty but ok. The greens and fringe were very nice. The greens were receptive and rolled very nice. There was no gps on carts but the price was reflective. No beverage cart or water on the course. They have a very nice bar and Grill well stocked. The overall experience was good. Would recommend this course to anyone.
Good Value for your money
Since the residents of Carl Junction Ward III purchased Briarbrook the conditions have greatly improved. The tees, fairways and greens are in good condition. Senior tees were recently added and each year new sections of the old cart paths are being renovated from asphalt to concrete. The course is well maintained with a definite change in grass height from fairway to rough. Some areas between fairways are still barren due to the large number of trees but these areas are being seeded and improved each year. I have had no problems with members on the course. If you want to play I suggest getting a tee time since the weekends can be crowded due to the vast improvements and low cost to play. Briarbrook is more challenging than the other other area courses.
Public course for members only
This course is an ok course but with other better course in the area not worth the headache. I play here more than I want bc it's right out my back door but I ALWAYS have problems with the members that are playing. They won't let you play through and are jerks about it. The golf pro there treats the course as his private course and won't do anything about the members. Rules ally to non members but members are able to do what they want. The course it poorly maintained. They only mow before tournaments otherwise u can't tell the difference between fairway and rough. Cart paths are rougher than the grass. If you r looking to play golf there are 4 other courses the same price and MUCH better.
