Inconsistent polices
be more consentient with your polices and procedures. They should have a sign and be posted on your websites where your golf rules are listed.
Pitiful maintenance
Worst shape I’ve ever seen it in. Grass was extremely high. Couldn’t find your ball in the rough. Greens were like concrete, wouldn’t hold anything. Sand traps were no longer maintained. Basically just rocks and dirt. Looks like they either need a new superintendent or he needs to learn to do his job. Golf business is up 70% this year, so it’s not a budget issue.
Beautiful course and great pace!
Great place to play. Beautiful course, great pace of play is probably my favorite. The tee times are never stacked up to where you waiting in the tee box. Also the greens have come in nicely!
Exceptional Quality for Price!
The course had been closed for a while because of the pandemic, but after being open only a short while, it was looking superb! Fairways and roughs were well-kept and clear, and the greens had recently been aerated and rolled making the new bermuda species plush and firm (putt reads for the most part were true). The bunkers were mostly under maintenance being drained or replaced as they had gotten pretty tough from all the rain and no one being able to maintain them. I’m sure they’ll be looking clean and soft in no time. The layout can be challenging for intermediate golfers, and yet it’s still very rewarding for new golfers. Also, the clubhouse was closed but they were still serving food and drinks out the window which I appreciated.
Staff Rudeness
My group of 4 normally like playing this course. At the turn I went into the Pro Shop to inquire why they removed all the water stations from the course. I was told that they went to winter rates on Nov 4 and they removed the water. Of course it was not winter, it was Nov 4, and still the fall. The temperature was 68 degrees. Water was needed. The worker in the Pro Shop couldn't have cared less and didn't care what the temperature was. To them they have an arbitrary date of Nov 4 regardlee of the weather.
It is obvious that they stop taking care of anything after their arbitrary date because course condition was not good
A Hidden Gem
The course is pretty short from the forward tees, but a nice little round for sure. There are a few surprises on holes and you do have to be strategic. The greens were in terrific shape, the fairways were well trimmed. The rough in the South in August is always tough. There are a few bunkers that don't have sand, (#18 specifically) but there a a lot of bunkers, and they have sand...believe me. For the price, we will be back. The clubhouse is really well maintained, and coming up 9 or 18 you hardly believe you're in Olive Branch. Really quite charming. Can't find the course on GHIN to post score.
Good course
Course is in good condition. Greens are exactly what you should expect this time of year on dwarf bermuda. Bunkers are well kept. Fairways are in good shape. I recommend Cherokee Vally. Fun course with adequate challenge.
Enjoy
Great Views!!!
I play this course once a week or so. Its always a challenge, but in very Nice shape! its very affordable and the Staff there are very friendly and helpful! You won't find a better public course in the area in my opinion. If you feel really good about your game just step back on the Gold tee boxes and it will challenge you. Fun and Affordable!!
Good place to play
CV was in good shape. Greens rolled nicely even after being airiated just 3 days ago. Course is well maintained. For a public course it’s one of the best in the area. It was jam packed. We had the 11:45 tee time at the end of a slammed morning and still played in less than 3.5 hours. We saw Marshall’s several times. CV seems to be managed well.
Solid course
Good layout and some fun hole designs. Conditioning was OK, would benefit from some improvements.
great,fun course
I enjoy this place often. great staff and facilities. will not be let down.
Love This Course!
Love this course. So many golf courses in the Memphis, TN area and this one is by far my favorite. Nice zoysia fairways always provide a good lie and there's plenty of challenges for the skilled golfer yet can be forgiving for beginners. Nice large greens with many pin placements to make each hole seem different from round to round. Nice elevations as well make the course an excellent choice for golfers. Don't miss playing this course when you in the Memphis, TN area.
doesn't feel like Mississippi
I have often said that when I play this course I feel like I am in East Tennessee because of the elevation changes. The zoysia fairways generally are drained well and your ball sits up great. In addition the greens roll very tree. I always look forward to playing this course!
Great Course
Our favorite local course. Incredible elevation changes making it a challenge. You need to think about distances. Many risk/reward opportunities. In the best shape we have seen. A great value. Can't wait to play again soon.
Value could be better
I like the course but for the money I can go to Plantation and get a better deal and its just as nice of course.
fun course to play
Nice amount of elevation changes. good for all skill levels
A really fun course
Just moved to this area. I found this course to be among one of the better public courses I have played. Nice layout, scenic and, most of all, forgiving. Fairways and greens in excellent shape, even after a harsh winter. I will definitely be back!
Only played front 9 due to time in local area but was great course.
Nice wide fairways and not much trouble near the greens. Putting surface was fast in the afternoon with lots of breaks that would give the pros a problem. Fun all around though. Looking forward to playing this course again soon.
