Bonus Golf
Late season bonus golf in MN, and this location was in fabulous shape. Greens were rolling fast and true. Tee Boxes in good shape. Fairways were manicured and consistent. Only down fall was the bunkers were rock hard and should have been marked as ground under repair. But golf in MN the 1st week of November after a snow fall, and couldn't have asked for much better.
Great Course
This is a fun course to play for all. Many tees to play from. We played forward as it was a chilly fall day and it had just rained the night before. The layout is very nice although could use GPS on the carts with some playing tips (although you can find them on RC website so keep your phone handy). Not too tricky but nice to know distances to water, bunkers and bailouts. Greens are the defense of this course. Very undulating.
Good value for a terrific course
Played the Queen’s Nine with a friend. Annika designed a challenging side with a good mix of water, bunkers, distance and hills. Undulating greens were tough but fair. Look forward to playing Arnie’s farewell nine along with an Annika reprise next time. Bravo!
Great day!
I could have played better but I still enjoyed my round! The course was in very good shape.
Spend your valuable time and money elsewhere
Value: Poor; every opportunity that this course has to charge a fee, they ensured to go after every nickel. Our group felt as if this course was poorly managed. The range was in poor shape and you had to pay for range balls, as it’s not included in your tee time costs. If you want to have the flexibility of having your own cart, you need to pay double the cart fee, as the club charges truly per seat in the cart (another added expense layer) or they will force you to ride with random people. The cart types offered are gas or electric and are very basic. They are riding the namesake of some of the greats and that’s all that was great but not worth the fees.
Course conditions for mid-summer was nothing to admire and not photo worthy. Pace of play for a relatively short course: 5h 15m. This was unacceptable and our group considered stopping okay after 14 holes. The pin placement and green speeds were very difficult. For a non-tournament, the pins shouldn’t be placed wherever they were. Putting average is 1.78 and I was 3 putting all over the course.
Overall: go someplace else and enjoy your time
Very plush, greens rolled true and we’re fast enough to be fun but not mean.
Beautiful Course
Pace of play was fast but it’s a beautiful area. Hilly front nine and long stretched back nine.
Royal Golf
The queens front and the kings back are my favorite 18 holes of golf. Each hole is its own creative expression of Annika and Arnie working together .it is a challenging course with his length in the front and undulation in the back, set against beautiful lakes and woods and extraordinary houses. If you go on the restaurant order, an Arnie Palmer, which is the best version of this iconic combination of lemonade and iced tea specifically designed at this course by the king himself.
Had a nice time
I would NEVER pay full price. But I enjoyed the course. Played with complete strangers and everyone was really nice. Was an enjoyable experience.
Top-notch course!
The Royal Club is a beautiful course with scenic views, and each hole is unique, fun to play, and challenging.
