Located just a few minutes from Minneapolis, Interlachen Country Club first opened in 1909, making it one of the oldest golf clubs in the Twin Cities region. Over the years it has also become one of the most beloved. Donald Ross came in 1919 and redesigned the original nine-hole layout and added another nine holes. Robert Trent Jones made more modifications to the golf course in the 1960s, and most recently, all of the bunkers were rebuilt and another dozen were added. Though there have been several updates through the years, the classic layout has a timeless appeal and is still considered one of Ross' best designs. Interlachen Country Club has hosted a variety of tournaments over the years, from the Western Open in 1914 to the U.S. Women's Open in 2008.
