Challenging layout needs restoration
I hope someone is able to form an investment group and sink some money into improving this course. I have no idea what their finances are like from other revenue sources, but it seems this is a great design of a course that could really use someone making a financial commitment to restore the course to what must have been its former glory. As far as playing, it is tight, with narrow tree-lined fairways that will get you in trouble if you are hitting it sideways. Sloping and winding fairways make for challenging drives and approach shots. A great place to take an assessment of your long game. The greens would very dangerous if they were restored, as they are quite sloped also. WP also sits in a very nice community, which let you see the potential here.
improving
Course was in much better shape than last year. Played on a wet, cool day, no golfers on the course for the front 9. Pro shop staff very friendly. I am sure that we will be back.
Very narrow
If u can't land in the fairway normally then plan on loosing a ton of balls the rough here is pretty much woods with 2 feet of leaves blow in. the open marsh aeras are very wet and mucky and houses are very close the signs warning you that you are responsible for anything u break on people's houses are or the course was new to me
Staff was great very friendly
Not worth it
Tee boxes are terrible. Fairways have very little grass. Very tight and tree roots on all edges of every hole. Carts are old, slow and uncomfortable.
So bad
Go anywhere else. This is worth $25 tops. Bad carts, dirt fairways, debris everywhere. Blind shots galore. Bad design
Could be so much more.
First and foremost they charge more on golfnow then the actual standard rate which i have NEVER experienced. They didn't not have crew out at all. Greens not blown off, tee boxes not mowed in days and whoever cut them last didn't even put a significant number of tee markers back. Course plays tight and will make you hate your driver. A lot of potential amd worth a try.
Rough shape, slow play
Not a huge fan of the type of golf this course offers. Blind shots, target golf, etc. Course wasn't in the best condition, not terrible but not good either. Played behind a 6-some on the back nine for some reason. Never saw a ranger. 5 hour round which is unacceptable considering the early tee time. Price was ok for what it turned out to be. Probably won't visit this course again though.
