Dan Pohl, a Michigan native who won twice on the PGA Tour, returned to his childhood home to design The Pohlcat in 1991. The two starting holes are several of the most dramatic on the 6,954-yard golf course. The par-5 first hole plays over water to the green. The second is a white-knuckle par 4 where the approach shot must carry the river to the green below. A split fairway at No. 4 and the drivable sixth make up a fun front nine. The four finishing holes are drenched with water and wetlands.
